Drilled 5 Buzzbombs last night......100% Satisfaction
« on: January 31, 2008, 03:37:51 AM »
Out of the 5 Buzzbombs I drilled last night. Only 1 person wasn't blown away. That was me. I knew what this ball was capable of. All 5 bowlers saw ball motion that they haven't seen before. Even the soft handed fudgeknuckler saw unstoppable movement. I do not know what physics rule this core falls under but whatever it is....It works!!!

I was excited about this ball when I threw it but watching bowlers from every level throw it has me psyched up bigtime.

Don't miss this ball. Get your now!!!

What's the "ball motion" that they hadn't seen before?  I watched the videos and saw a strong ball, but nothing that was dramatically different.

So just like every other Lane 1 release, this is the best thing the bowling ball industry has ever seen, right?

$178 shipped.....plus drilling $45....all I can say is I better be able to drive the thing into work for a week without filling up for that price

I am curious, what makes it more special than any other companies big hooking equipment?

Special?
I don't know.
Why is a Lexus special?
A Toyota is made with alot of the same parts and accomplishes the same task.
Special?
Not sure, but it looks to be the strongest ball I've thrown.
I slapped a Rico drill on mine and threw a practice game last night.
I bowled immediately following a league. I've done this many times before with other balls (just for practice). I have never had to play as deep as I did last night. I will be taking the Buzzbomb with me tonight for league action, and I will report back with my findings.

Look forward to it nova. Every review I've read here have been from Lane #1 shills that sell the equipment. Sounds like marketing hype when they post.

Proven quality and longivity. None of which has been proven by L1. Bragged about. claimed and testified, but never proven..

Inverted,
You missed the point.
Lexus is no more special than Toyota.
Cadillac is no more special than Chevrolet.
Acura is no more special than Honda.
Lane #1 is no more special than "insert brand here".

It's all about what works for you.

As for quality, I had one Lane #1 ball crack. It cracked from the ring finger through the pin. I drilled the ball myself. I placed the pin 1/4" to the right of the ring finger. I use finger inserts, so I glued them in place. I'm not sure this wasn't my fault for drilling so close to the pin and using super glue for the grips. Either way, it does not matter. Lane #1 replaced the ball with no questions asked.

As for longivity, I have not killed any Lane #1 balls yet. I have purchased lots of old second hand (and probably 3rd, 4th, and 5th hand, too) Lane #1 balls. All of them perform to my expectations. The only ball I have had die in my hands was an Ebonite Total NV.

Is Lane #1 the best ball out there? I don't know. What I can tell you is that Lane #1 balls work well in my hands. As for the price, who cares. Obviously there are plenty of people who can afford the balls. If I couldn't afford them, I would not buy them. But you can rest assured I would not belittle the people who can and do. I have no beef with people who buy nice houses and nice cars. If they can afford it, who am I to tell them they are out of line? I am not defending Lane #1. I am defending the people who take constant abuse for buying the balls. We are not retarded (all but a select few). We are just bowlers like the rest of you. We have just found something we like, so we go with it. It really is that simple.

Well I am a believer and I have credentials to back them up. I bowled 2 seasons of regionals using all the "BIG" brand name balls with not much success. Then I drilled a Lane#1 and threw it in leagues getting ready for the regionals. I contacted Lane#1, Brunswick(Larry Verble)and Storm(Mike Mullen)for a staff contract. I did get offers from all 3 companies and signed with Richie. I then preceded to make 25% of the finals that year and finish in the top 20 in points out of 800+ bowlers. That for me is proof.

Strider,
It's like this. My opinions are my opinions. Do I think the other companies balls roll good...Yes! I also sell them out of my shop. I do not sell strictly Lane#1 balls. Why is it that you only reply negative to the Lane#1 posts?? Hammerheads and Storm Chasers write the same things about their favorite balls but I NEVER see your negative comments there. Why?? Just curious....

It's like I tried Ron Clifton's Magic Carpet and he claims it makes for a cleaner release. It ripped the skin off the back of my thumb and another testers thumb. The holes were plenty big enough to fit the carpet but it still ripped our skin off. Does that mean it doesn't work for everyone...NO! I am sure people think it is the best product ever made. I just don't like it myself but would never chime in to other peoples possitive comments to bash it. If I remember correctly you did it with my Secret Sauce polish as well. I have 100's of testers that tell me it is the best polish they ever used and creates more movement off the friction. You were the only person that told me it had a slip agent in it because it went 200 feet. I don't know....Maybe that's just your personallity.

For myself and 1000's of others. Lane#1 has the best balls on the market. For 1000's of others it may be Hammer,Storm and Ebonite. That is just the way it is.

Wow.  Where did you get that I'm ripping Lane #1 from my last post?  It wasn't a loaded question, and after reading it again, I don't sense any sarcasm on my part.  I probably would have shot 700 with my XXXL last night (see the lengthy Liberator post) if I would have used it from the start and have my only 800 with the Tsunami.  All I asked is what made the ball motion special.  Your words are what made me curious.  I'm looking at a new heavier oil ball and am trying to decide between several balls (Cell, LevRG, Buzzbomb, Resurgence in that order) and wanted a better description on what made it's roll unique for you.  Lots of people in all forums throw around a lot of buzzwords (no pun intended) and I wanted to see if you were providing the normal lip service that fans of all equipment provide, or if there was something useful I could gain from you.

As far as your other comment, I try to be pretty honest with everything.  I probably respond to Lane #1 and Brunswick fan's attitudes the most because they are by far the most noticeable.  One or two people gushing about the new Storm/Hammer release doesn't get sickening, but when the same 10 people proclaim every new brand X ball is the greatest that's ever been, it does get annoying.  I also am one of the few people who don't rave about your polish, but I don't go out of my way to shoot it down at every chance, so don't think there is any kind of vendetta going on.  I told you before that I know you have game and I'd love to see you do a few videos.

On a side note, some people have sensitive skin that causes irritation with Magic Carpet.  Most other problems I would guess are associated with squeezing.  Too long of a span, too much reverse, and too big of a hole combined with squeezing will not make you like MC.  I didn't care for it in the beginning.  Being open minded, I gave it another try after modifying my span and pitches.  I still get some irritation, but it's very much reduced.  Maybe I have sensitive skin, and I'm sure I still squeeze sometimes.  Everyone does at least some (unless you don't bevel at all), but most don't recognize it because they've been doing it so long that they take it for granted.
