Drilling a Cherry Bomb for snappy backends

Mine has a 2 1/2 pinout and I'm bowling on wood lanes. Got the CB because my Freakout(pin ove ring cg kicked out 1/2") was just flipping too hard and same with my Core power HRG(pin in ring cg 1" off center). Any suggestions? I've been told this ball will not overreact no matter what layout I use, but I want to do it right the first time.

I agree with Mongo's first statement.  On snappy backends, you want to avoid this ball all together.  If the backends are that strong, maybe you should consider trying a urethane ball.  Or, if it is a very wet dry shot, maybe you should go to particle.

I know you don't normally want a pearl on aggressive backends. My pro says this pearl is "nothing but smooth, no jumpiness at all, couldn't get it to overreact if he tried." He hooks the ball a lot more than I do, so I took his word for it. Plus I've had a bad case of Saw envy for a while. How often can you buy a Buzz Saw with little to practically no use on it pluugged, drilled w/grips and slug for $100? It may not work on that shot, but I just couldn't pass up the deal.

It's a great ball, by all means buy it.  But, I wouldn't drill a ball to try and get it to do something it's not designed to do. I own one, and I love it.  While it may not be as "jumpy" as other pearls, it is a snappy (hockey-stick shaped reaction) ball by nature.  As for "over-reacting", this seems to be a relative term that can defined differently by every person.  I can tell you there are plenty of conditions that this ball is not suited for, and more times than not, a condition with very strong backends is one of them.

a nice ball for control would be the cranberry--very smooth and not jumpy at all..drill it5 x4 for a strong smooth arc to the pocket

I guess I'd be asking a bit much to find a cranberry in trade. But if you know of anyone who might be so inclined let me know; if not, I bowl in a couple of different houses, and I will make use of this ball.
