Drilling a Tsunami
« on: September 30, 2005, 02:39:58 AM »
This is going to be my first lane #1 ball, and I know all you nuts (I mean that in a respectful tone) out there in the FOS can easily answer this question.

What is the best way to make the Tsunami roll up with a strong midlane read and a nice strong roll in the backend?  I think a 3 3/8 drilling would be too strong, so I am thinking something like 4x4 stacked, maybe 4 1/2 stacked, but you guys know whats best for the diamonds.

BTW: PAP = almost 6x1/4^ (gotta love the high tracker), high revs, 17-18mph and the pins

x59, There may be some lucky sawusers that have had the opportunity to drill up the tsunami already, but not many. I think the best bet would be to ask Buzzsaw Mike on the lane one site. You also might want to look at the drill options in tech data section.

Hope this helps some. Drilled up my Tsunami 2 days ago, 15lbs Pin 2-3 out and Top Weight 2-2.5
My PAP is 5 X 1/2 up(RH). 16-17mph, med revs. Bowled on Brunswick synthetic lanes, medium heads with moderate carrydown.

I have mine layed out with the pin under the ring finger with the CG kicked out to the right and the MB on my VAL. Pretty much drilled up 4x2.5 with weight hole 1 1/4 past my VAL.

This Tsunami rolls just the way you described as your desired reaction, for me. Strong but smooth midlane with a strong roll on the backend, no flippyness. Awesome hit and carry. On the same shot, my Hybrid Dirty bomb went a little earlier and a little smoother at the backend than the Tsunami. HDB is drilled up the same.
Hope this helps some.
