Title: Drilling an Uranium Solid
Post by: Nicanor on January 05, 2006, 09:40:45 AM
I'm looking for drilling recommendations for the Uranium solid I just ordered to compliment my Enriched Uranium.  I don't want it to be a condition specific ball, but I would like it for med/heavy oil conditions.  The ball has a 3 inch pin and about 3 oz of top.  My pap is 4 7/8 and 5/8 up.

Thank you.

Ask Alvin

I would lay it out with a different drill than your enriched so it gives you a different reaction. I know it's a different ball, but without a completely different layout they may overlap a little too much. Ask Alvin what he thinks of the thumb leverage or cg leverage for you. That would probably do well in heavier oil.

My XXXcel is drilled with the Ebonite revs leverage and I like the reaction on that ball, but the core is so totally different that I don't know what to expect for reaction.  Not very much back end on the thumbs leverage?

Thanks Sawuser.

I would try a pin over the bridge, CG kicked out 3 3/8" from PAP. After getting the ball to fit your hand, find the ending CG. Weigh the ball up for top weight at that location.

Then drill an extra hole right thru the Ending CG, taking out the amount of top weight there. You will now have 0 side, 0 finger, and 0 top. The ball will roll heavy and smooth, doing what you do to it. =:^D
