OK, drilling a hybrid DB... a little bit different.
« on: March 20, 2005, 02:01:06 PM »
so here's me: 14-17 mph ballspeed, 250ish RPM lots of axis tilt, track 3" from fingers and 2" from thumb.

so i want a ball reaction that is controlled but abrupt, i.e. not so much over/under. i would prefer a good midline read, with a crazy backend snap. lol, the more i think about it, i doubt that will happen with trying to combine skid-snap and 'controllable'... or can it?

i was looking at Savoia's HDB that he used for the Lane#1 HDB video. a couple guys at my local house have some lane #1 equipment drilled with this same layout. the pin is under the ring with the CG going in-line towards the PAP, pretty sure it would be a CG axis drill.

i have been looking at the site, and man they have some really exotic layouts for this ball. i am glad i bought it, i have wanted one since release date. but for once, i cannot seem to be happy choosing my stack/label drilling i prefer.

this is my first time asking baout a layout for a Lane #1 ball, i did pretty good with eveyrhting else that was a buzzsaw... after the BCB i had i swore i wouldn't touch another Bomb core. help me do this one right!!

i ordered from KidAce, and BEGGED for a 3" pin. i hope i get it, since my Golden Nugget was a bit longer than i like ( a hair over 4") and i coulnd't do the 5x4... i did 5x3.5 which translated into a 12o'clock label drill.

Don, try putting the pin under your middle finger and kick the CG out. This will give you some midlane roll and a srong backend. =:^D
