Title: drilling question, limited knowledge please help..

My Buzzbomb came with 3 3/4 top and 2-3 inch pin.  Am i able to stack this ball 4 x 4 and it still be legal? meaning will i have too much top weight? I know this is simple question for most, thanks for your help.

Yes, this ball will still be legal, no problem. You will take out roughly 2 1/2 oz. top. Depending on hole size and label shift with extra hole, you might take out a bit more top. =:^D

thanks, for some reason, my pro shop 'hates' drilling balls meant for heavy oil with pin above fingers.  "ball is meant to get into early roll......" is the normal response, lol, so just double checking.  Stack and label is what makes me able!

with a ball as strong as the Buzzbomb, you might want to keep it from getting into too early of a roll. It has a very strong core and coverstock and OOB surface is at 1000 Abralon, and most people have to up that to even have a chance of using it for an entire league night. Buzzbomb is a true oiler, so you dont want it to get into too early of a roll, otherwise it will rollout and leave weak tens if not on HEAVY oil.

Pin high balls respond to friction quicker and that is what makes it appear that the ball hooks harder in the backend. Pin low balls spin faster and smooth out the transitions from oil to dry.

If you take a ball that is strong to begin with and drill it to strong or to read earlier. You are magnifying the strength of the ball and that could result in burn up. I drilled tons of Buzzbombs at the booth at the USBC's with high pins but still keeping the pin distance from PAP relatively strong.
