+1.  A lot weaker ball so you can play many more lines and use way longer.  And easier to control on the dry.

i would hardly consider a H2O a dry lane ball. IMO its a true medium ball. the chainsaw is alot weaker and doesn't react violently to the dry. get the chainsaw.

You own a pro shop and you would recommend a H2O over a chainsaw for dry lanes? I am glad I'm not a customer of yours.

5 for Chainsaw and 2 for H2o. Anyone else that has thrown both these balls care to chime in.

Read this article first: http://www.kegel.net/library/foArticles.asp?iKodYazi=34

Then compare the RG Differentials:

................ RG Differential @ 15lbs
Chainsaw      0.013
Pearl Viper      0.020
XXXL         0.028
H20                     0.030

Den,

My opinion here may not be the most popular you will hear. Both balls have their place on the drier side however they are distinctly different.

H2O is a pearl, Chainsaw is a solid
H2O is a mild asymmetrical ball, Chainsaw is a symmetrical ball
Core designs are distinctly different.
Coverstock manufacturers are different.

Now here's the kicker.....

If you want a ball that will go long, roll and not flip then the Chainsaw is the ball.

If you want a ball that will get long and then have a stronger backend reaction, the H2O is a better option.

If you have a strong release, the Chainsaw will work better.
If you have a weaker release, the H2O will fit the bill.

In short, the Chainsaw is a weaker ball but I found my Chainsaw to be too early on true drier lanes. This led to a flat hit and horrible carry.

The H2O may very well be stronger but it can be made to go longer than the Chainsaw and it will finish and carry better as well.
