Hello, I'm new to this web site but have been reading the posts for a while now and have learned a lot from all the knowledgeable bowlers on this site..so thanks. Anyway, I am looking for a ball I can play an outside line with. Something I can take a down and in shot with. I throw a slower ball speed..14-15 mph, rh, and with my current equipment I tend to go brooklyn when I try this shot. I'm interested in the XXXL, V2 dry, or maybe the sonic X pearl. Which one do you guys think? Thanks again!

You don't mention a rev rate here but I would even suggest the Emerald with a length drill or a Silver Diamond if loking at Lane 1. The XXXL is a great ball and as long as some dry exists, it'll move for you.
What kind of balls are you throwing that are going Brooklyn on this shot????

Thanks for the replies. I currently throw on wood lanes with light-med oil patterns, with medium revs. The balls I'm using now are brunswick fuze purple pearl, reaction ricochet, and a groove reative.

Big,
Please keep in mind that the XXXL is a plastic ball with a strong core/weight block, so if you get to the pocket, the carry will be pretty good, down and in with short oil great, carry down, not so good. The Silver is a great ball and maybe we need to see what the XXL brings to the world of dry lanes after it is released.

For me the XXXL hooks, but it is not a violent snap or a very early hook. This ball gets down the lane very easy. There is not a plastic ball I have ever thrown or seen thrown that hits the pocket like this one does.
Going on surface thoughts alone this is the ball for you. If the outside area where you want to play is dry, reactive or particle(V2dry) will still hook because the coverstock creates the friction.

When the XXL is released, what is it supposed to do and which ball is it going to replace? Silver Diamond, Emerald, etc.???
-
u might look at a hammer urathane or visionary blue slate gar
-
The Buzzsaw XXL will be Lane 1's first urethane ball. I don't think it will be replacing anything. It should react more than the XXXL plastic and less than the XL resin balls. =:^D

Thanks T-God.

I agree with TomTom, go with the Visionary Slate Blue Gargoyle, It's coming out in Sept. It is pearl urethane with a REAL CORE (amazing no?). There is a string about it going on in the Visionary forum (on this site) and they just added the ball to the reviews. I strongly suggest Visionary, high quality and low price.

IMHO: The XXL is Lane#1 copying Vis's Amulet Glow, which is being partially reincarnated by the Slate Blue Gargoyle. Granted that the Amulet glow was a throwback to the old Hammer line, but visionary had the idea to ressurect it first.
Honestly im not trying to insult Lane#1, just pointing out that another company has already done this, it's not an amazing new discovery. But if you MUST go w/ Lane#1 get the XXL. But im sure the Slate Blue will be considerably less expensive (as most L#1 balls prove to be).

I would be willing to bet that the XXL wont track up as quick as the Amulet did either.
But I doubt if you can use the XXL as a nightlight in the event of a power outtage :-)
