Dynamo Test Ball ???
« on: December 28, 2008, 05:44:46 AM »
I'm making an assumption since the next release is the Dynamo this is the Dynamo Craig sent me to test. Mine was a long pin (4.5") blue in color, nothing like the black balls others received, with what I could only say was a 2000 or 4000 abralon finish noting matte about it at all. Ball is drilled with a dual angle double thumb layout, finishing with 1-1/4 top weight, 1/4 oz finger and 3/4 oz positive side weight.

I had the house manager run a fresh shot for the test, wood lanes, med to heavy pattern from 8 to 8, very little dry bounce area, oil length is 32ft with a 10 ft buff to 42 ft.

I found the ball to have more length than the AO, stronger off the spot than the AO, more recovery and angularity than the AO. The drill no doubt had a postive effect on the ball, maxed completely out, still have had no info on core numbers or cover nor finish on the ball, so all I can say is it is so far is a phenom!!
It showed me more backend anglarity, more boards covered the last 17 ft of the lane than I have seen with any ball. Even letting it leak right too soon it still recovered, yet no extreme bounce you get with some covers and finishes, just a very stable extreme backending ball. Its a shame they are going to be black, this color I have is a jewel when it comes to eye candy. It will interesting come Monday night when it gets used in league, no markings or logos with exception of the red pin, pin prick and serial number, bet I get a few, What's that???? Center manager has already begin begging for the test ball, lol after seeing it thrown.

having had the opportunity to tweek mine over the last week. I will post an update

took the surface to 600 grit wetsand, then hit it with a 4k abralon bad, lanes were juiced so I had to move right, which with the drilling and the oil pattern out this ball really looked great.  I as you know did a dual angle drill on it, 30 x 5.5 x 30
made for heavier oil or longer patterns it did that perfectly.  The hit is phenomenal and it rolls so true, gonna try it on some other patterns with the slight surface change to get an even better feel for it.  The old school black really adds to the ball

IMO, if the interm. diff is .010 or less the mb influence would be minimal unless the balance hole is drilled into it to change the core shape altering the mb numbers. Hence the double thumb drilling was used to alter (jack up) the rg diff as well as the inter diff.
