Dynamo X
« on: September 22, 2009, 07:58:23 AM »
Drilled one out with a 4 1/4 pin to pap and 3 3/8 cg to pap.  This put the pin just over my ring finger and the cg slightly kicked out with no weight hole required.  Tried it out of box and the ball went dead straight.  My Virtual energy and my virtual gravity were hooking but this ball was not.  Took it back to the shop and changed the surface to 2000 abralon, no polish.  The ball did the same thing.  Will probably try taking it down to 500 abralon.

Very confusing, since my Virtual gravity hooked and my virtual energy hooked why this ball did not.  My trak is low, but the track circumferene is around 12 inches.  I also had the same problem with a Brunswick Seige.

Any suggestions ?

check your static weights too much thumb weight will cause the ball to go straight and not hook at all.

You should have 132/135 side weight as well..

Isn't that getting a little old

My original dynamo performed the exact same way. I ended up slowing my ball speed way down, and having a flare hole added. This brought out the reaction some, but nothing extravagant. I ended up selling it!

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag...some virtual gravity, some hot sauce, a liberator, and a saw.. how can I loose....

How much flare are you getting? Should be between 4 and 5 inches.

Since you're a part time pro shop operator, I would guess that you did this, but one should never assume: did you verify that the CG marking was the actual CG?

If you have the ball drilled 4-1/4 x 3-3/8 without a weighthole there must have been like no top weight in the ball to start. A layout as such almost always requires a weighthole, especially on Lane 1 balls.

I have my X-2 laid out similar to yours and I cannot even throw it on my home house shot....the ball is too much in the midlane and the backend is way too much.

The ball does work good on a local house with fairly new synthetics though...

So, you're saying his static weights are off and that's the reason the ball doesn't hook?

Anyway to post a video?  I am curious to see how it rolls compared to your other stuff.

I don't have any other suggestions though.  To me, a ball should be able to hook just fine in OOB condition.
