dynamo x2 coverstock

did anyone have some problems with the coverstock? i mean when i got mine i wasnt impressed with the cover out of the box, it was kinda greasy. so i drilled the ball (30x4x60) and tried to clean  it as much as i could. the first shot i made went dead straight. ok maybe a bad shot, but it still goes straight. like 5 boards less than my massacre drilled the same way. i sanded it at 1000 then 2000 but again it doesnt have good backend recovery. i noticed that it doesnt absorb oil at all. like i ll throw it one shot  and 10 min later it will still have plenty of oil on it. kinda weird because i have a massacre, requiem, solaris, epicenter (all 900 global cover) and they all have a good reaction.

I did not like my reaction out of the box so I decided to put the ball on the spinner and go to work.

First finish was just to go over the box finish with the same grit pad then add polish...hated the reaction...lots of over/under.

Next I droppd to 1000 grit with a light polish. reaction was better but still not what I wanted.

3rd prep was 4000 grit no polish....didn't like that either.

Current prep is 500 grit with 20 sec of light pressure from a 1000 grit pad. I then added a light polish but I really leaned on the spinner and generated a lot of heat with the application. Used very little polish but a lot of water. Now the ball has a VERY strong reaction for me. In fact now it is almost TOO strong for what I want.

It has been my experience lately that the newer covers from the Lane 1 balls (and presumably the other 900 Global pours)dont work real well out of the box but like to be tweaked....

Just my experience...not saying it's an absolute, just my experience.

Second what Doug said, i left mine at OOB surface for a while and like it for a while, then tried 1000 abralon, didnt like it, tried 4000 didnt like it. Last week i hit it with 500 abralon, then went over it with 4000 no polish. It's like a totally different ball now, virtually no over/under where as before it seemed to be either too much or not enough for the conditons i see in league. Now though, it seems to be stronger throughout the lane, and still retaining enough energy for a decent backend. I like it better with more surface than polish.
