Dynamo X2 question
« on: September 14, 2009, 01:59:39 AM »
I have to x2's drilled different ways.  I have noticed that neither is a very heavy hitter.  Kinda weak hits.  Has anyone else had this problem with the ball in general?  Layouts on the balls are:

1-  Label Lev.
2-Pin under bridge, cg kicked out with a double thumb layout.

Could be the surface.  at 4000+ polish it will skid awfully far. try knocking the polish off with a 2000 or 4000 pad

I have one the label leverage polished with snake oil.  I have the pin down at 2000 now.  Both hit about the same, and I am sure they are not rolling out.  The guy I got them from had said the same thing about them.  Thanks for the insight, I will just keep playing with the surfaces then.

It could be that the way the balls are drilled don't match up with your style of play.

What's the specs on your game?

mine is pin over bridge, cg stacked, box condtion, hit has never been a problem, messengers all over, hits just like my original, I drilled this for a ddown and in type shot and it does that really well.  Ive noticed the ball getting stronger the more I use it

hit has never been an issue

axeweldr,

If this ball is anything like Lane #1's last "hybrid" solid, the Hybrid Dirty Bomb, I bet you're going to have to do some kind of surface change.

My HDB was awful in the box condition from the factory. Weak move, weak hit. I finally added Storm ReactaShine to the underlying factory grit and it became very playable for me, albeit on less oil than I was expecting.

If you've got a ball spinner, try 1000 or 2000 plus a polish similar to ReactaShine and see if that helps.

John,

I have an X2 that is drilled 55 x 4 1/2 x 60.  This puts the pin on mid-line under the bridge.  I was so impressed with the carry on this ball that I ordered an original Dynamo today.  Do you know how these layouts are based on your pap?  Take care....John

My pap for those balls would break down like this

1- 4 X 4 1/4
2- 4 3/4 X 4

Specs to my game are about 17 1/2 mph.  Revs in the 400 range, and as of tilt not really too sure.  My pap is 4 1/2 and down 1/2.

I am going to try 1000 and then Snake Oil.  Will post how they do tomorrow night.

John, did the balls come from the other guy polished with Snake oil? I like Snake Oil on most balls but I have not had any luck with it on Lane 1 and 900 Global balls. Once I took the polish off, resanded the surface and then used Lane 1's Sauce or even Storm's MoonShine.

Also remember that with Snake Oil and Sauce you need to go one step more coarse with the sanding than with some other polishes.

On another note I have never had any luck drilling Lane 1 balls label drill for guys with decent rev rates. I know you have a good amount of hand so perhaps you could have an issue there as well.

That's all I can give you......

He had beans sauce on them before.  I might take them down and start from the beginning.  I have some time today, might try a different polish then.  Thanks for the info.  As for the drillings, not much I can do with them now.  If they work, then I will keep them.  If not ebay here they come.

There are three phases on a ball's motion, namely, Skid, Hook and Roll

With all the oil and high grit finish on the ball that it never gone into the Hook phase. It just SKIDed past the breakpoint.

My guess...
