Tsunami = weak?
« on: January 06, 2007, 01:29:07 PM »
I drilled my tsunami stacked leverage & it just doesnt finish.  This was on a fairly fresh shot with nice backends, & it just didnt finish hard at all.  I was able to play 20-10 with my total inferno, 15-10 with my doom(drilled fairly weak with a weak weight hole) & couldnt play deeper than 17 to 10 with my tsunami.

Do i need more surface?  I heard from a few people the H2Os dont really roll all that well until they get a track in them.    What does everyone suggest?  Wait for a track, or add some surface?

Sell it to me. Seriously, my H2O (offset) was the same way until it got used a few times... now it is close to replacing my beloved Pearl Carbide Bomb.... I love the variety of conditions I can throw it on. Change the speed or break the wrist a little bit and this ball I can play all night with...no ball changes with this one, once I get lined up.

I am drilling a Tsunami tomorrow or Monday to use above this, hopefully I get the same versatility with it.

One other thing, and I think its a biggie, why do you think you have to play that deep? I have more revs than 90% of the bowlers in my house and I NEVER NEVER get left of 18-20..... I think some of the older bowlers know what I am talkin about here. wrist position has a lot to do with ball reaction.

Both of my Tsunami's were NEVER as good as my H20 was. I just didn't match up well with the Tsu.

There was a batch of Tsunami's that was extremely mild because of the factory polish that they were shipped with. I had a few and the best thing to do is to take the ball and sand it with 500 Abralon or similar and re shine the ball yourself.  It works. Trust me.   beans

I dont feel i HAVE to play that deep, its just what the lanes dictated that night. The center where my ball driller is tends to be on the dry side, so thats where i tend to play, & thats where the carry is as well.

As for the sand & repolish, i will definately try that, i may actually go to like 500-800 abralon(ish) & ruff buff it, should give me close to a 2000 wet abralon finish.  Which is just a LITTLE surface.

Thanks for the tips tho, i will definately look into it.

My Tsunami is drilled pin above ring finger, cg Stacked. At first, it was sanded because i think my PS guy noticed it wasnt exactly what i wanted..so he sands it for me, I took it out the first night, 650-something..Now, it pretty much has "Gained a polish" from being used so much..ball rolls fine, I just dont see the condition to use it often. It seems like when i throw it at my home center, i have to turn the ball more than usual to get it to finish, or i can stand left, like the 5 (im a lefty) and play straight up the boards, and it'll finish, just too much..so I guess i could try and find that medium with it, but I love my Tsunami for HS Bowling and stuff. Great drill for it. I think what Beans said would work.

Why don't you just get him to sand it again if you liked it like that? I've learned how to maintain my equipment better lately, and I try to keep the surface that I want on it at all times. I would suggest you don't let it "Gain a polish", mainly to help keep the ball's life.

Oh and if I were to let my wrist cupped a tad I could not throw my Silver Diamond on my lanes no matter how far past 20 I went....

Release matching up to lane conditions = the right ball in the pocket.
If I control my release then I should be able to put ANY ball in the pocket on ANY condition. Notice I said pocket...... not carry, they are 2 different things.
