Chainsaw Massacre
« on: May 31, 2009, 08:42:13 AM »
I punched on of these a couple of weeks ago and just got to throw it yesterday in a local tournament.  I LIKE THIS BALL!!  Very smooth move to the hole, and very strong continuation thru the pocket.  Shot 655 (about my average) and 715.  (The transition caught me the first set or it would have been much better).  Layout is the CG out leverage from the Buzzsaw website, with the pin above and between fingers.  I've heard that some folks have issues with the controllability of the Chainsaw  -  no such problem with this puppy.

Rags: Glad you're happy with the Massacre, and nice shooting in the tournament. I don't have one yet, but will before the year is out. What caught my eye in your post was that you used the CG out leverage drill, with the pin above and between fingers. I was thinking of going he same way, and it seems to be a good pattern for the ball based on your experience. Thanks for sharing.

mine is drilled very similar, the pin is actually between the two fingers, mostly drilled out by the ring, with the cg outside the fingers slightly, added a weight hole on my val about 2" down for legalities  strong late midlane push with a big backend, gets thru the heads decent but really moves off the dry, like it so much i cleaned some of the bag out, got rid of the original chainsaw and the agent orange

dynamo, massacre, xp and plastic

So you have a Dynamo at 4k, Massacre, Supernova XP, and plastic?

Besides the plastic, what lane conditions do you use each ball for?

Mine is drilled CG out.  Pin up and right of ring an inch.  CG kicked about 45 degrees.  Had to add huge counterweight hole to make the ball legal.

Ball is an absolute truck.  Can't believe it's movement and carry.  Definitely one of the best balls put out by Lane 1 to date.....

Doug
typically the dynamo would be at 2k no polish and be my oil ball, massacre for true mediums and the xp for a used up shot

I will be adding a second dynamo soon, it will be in OOB with a stronger drilling for the oil, dyanmo #2 at 4k and polish for the heavier side of med, and used up heavier shot (it recovers the best) Massacre for fresh mediums of slightly longer length, xp for used up shot or fresh short pattern

I probably could set up 3 dynamos and cover most every league shot i see

I was amazed at the length I got when I tried a Dynamo at 2k polished.  I'm about to take my AO up to 2k, and then maybe a splash of polish if I don't get enough length on the THS.  Wonder how they compare...

I'm so impressed by the carry I see on Lane #1 balls when people make bad shots (apparently the pocket is overrated) that I've been toying with an all Lane #1 arsenal:  AO for heavy, polished Dynamo for medium-heavy, Massacre for medium, and my Bullet for the toast.

That may be why mine worked so good out of box and hasn't done as well since when I took it up to 4000 grit, then 1000 Grit and polish. I'm going to take it back to 500 grit shortly, but am currently making some adjustments to my span and pitches and want to wait until I am stablized there before I mess with the cover.
