Mine's drilled Rico just like my C+, I'm hoping to use it for the first time tonight.

But that's not a "normal" drilling. It's not only a control/arc drill but it also allows you to use the ball on slightly to more oil than a normal drill will allow. Good luck with it, in any case.

I threw mine for the first time on what I would call a medium volume THS. My HRG is drilled pin under ring with the CG out (approx 4:30 from pin). The reaction was very good as long as I kept my speed in check. If I got too fast, it was easy to blow through the breakpoint. On the converse, if I got slow with it, I was faced with an ugly split. That said, I did have decent area...a tug held fairly well, and a toss outside came charging back off the dry.

As for hook rating, I'm not convinced this ball is stronger than the Cobalt (pearl). I had that with me tonight as well. My Cobalt is drilled pin above bridge, CG stacked below (5x5). The Cobalt was definitely more angular (as advertised), but I was able to play a similar shot with both. With the Cobalt, I shot the same target while standing two boards left on the approach.

I will tote both in next week again to make sure it was not just operator error (as usual). I like to give new balls a few weeks before forming a concrete opinion. For me, the Brunswick covers seemed to come alive after a few games. I'm not sure if the Columbia covers will be different in that regard or not.

Thanks, Jon.
Good comparison; saw your profile. Is it still accurate?

Looking forward to your next Cobalt Pearl/HRG comparison.

Maybe zeusjr is right; this may almost need a Rico drill ....
