Title: Enriched Uranium Coverstock
Post by: AK47 on March 08, 2008, 04:03:40 AM
Is there another Lane 1 ball that has the same coverstock as the EU? If not is there one close to it?

The only other Pearl Partical out there would be the G-Force Nebula

Not a real alternative, since the Enriched had a Brunswick particle pearl cover and the G-Force used a Columbia Particle pearl cover. Makes a large difference in ball reaction.

I don't think any ball will come close to the EU .. it has its own unique character ( to me at least )

Oh I agree that there aren't 100% the same, but it is the only Pearl Partical Lane#1 ball available.

Gold Nugget is pearl particle but it's even older than your EU so I don't know if that counts. When you're talking about "available" balls isn't the EU out of production?

Yes, and technically so is the Nebula...  But the Nebula isn't on the retired list yet...

I have a 16 lb NIB, good spec, Enriched that I'd GLADLY exchange for a 16 lb good spec, Golden Nugget!!

True but I wonder if a properly drilled G-Force Supernova (polished particle Super-Flex) isn't a better substitute for an Enriched, than a Nebula. I wonder, but I am not sure.

I am SURE that Brunswick particles are much earlier and stronger than Columbia particles, in general.

EU is all about the backend it has ... the supernova strength is in reading the midlane quick .. I would say the nebula is closer to the EU than the SN

Wish I'd seen that backend the EU was supposed to have, or I wouldn't  have sold mine. That ball did not match up to my game very well.

I kinda wish I didn't sell mine, but I just didn't use it enough.  Just way to condition specific for me.  But oh well, since no-one bought my EU Test ball last week I still have an EU and an even stronger one at that...

which is exactly why I added, "With the proper drilling". Under normal circumstances, it has a good midlane read, but drillings and surface changes alter that.
