got a 15 lb enriched uranium with a 3 inch pin and i would like to use it to it's full potential. how should i get this ball drilled???
-
I loaded mine up (4x4 stacked) and it is VERY strong!
If you watch the video on the Lane #1 website, mine is drilled almost identical to that one.
Notes from a 17 mph high-tracking stroker on a THS:
Compared to Uranium Solid (drilled label 1:30):
EU went longer and flipped harder. Covered more bords. Sharper entry angle. Responded differently to changes in release.
U-Solid read the midlane sooner. Smoother arc. More forgiving to faulty release.
Compared to H2O (drilled 4x4 stacked):
H20 was played straight up 10 board and snapped to the pocket.
EU played up 10 board on same shot barely hit the 7 pin (almost hooked off the lane). Swing EU across 15 at the arrows out to about 8 at the breakpoint...BINGO!
I've only had this ball (drilled) for a couple days. If this ball "comes alive" like most other Lane #1 balls have, I will have to put a leash on it. I cannot wait to experiment with it on different conditions.

I drilled mine 1:30 Label, like the sheet (1st time), and it will go longer on the medium patterns (with my speed), but still moves when it finds the drier boards. Depending on your speed and rev rate, I would go with a 4x4 stacked, or a 3 1/2 x 2 to 2 1/2 stacked. These should give you great backend; if you want a lengthier drilling, with good backs, try the 1:30 Label.

Not to hijack, but what would you recommend dave for longer, flatter patterns (42' to 43') for someone with medium speed and medium/high revs?

I know you directly asked for Dave's opinion, but I would suggest a Uranium Solid for said condition. Let's see what Dave says...

I just got one a couple of weeks ago. I drilled mine label 1:30 and after using it I wish I would have drilled it stacked.

Strappr,
I would tend to agree with wagonmaster, I would choose a Solid Uranium; now if the pattern were short, with good backends, then the EU would be a good choice.

Based on the newly released USBC pattern, appears as if we are going to have shorter oil...
. I still think a control drill of some type would be worthwhile on the EU?
