I have been a Hammerhead since 1988 and never thought I would say this but, I think I may be switching to Lane #1 real soon. I bowled our city tournament this weekend on a heavy oil condition. My Diesel Particle was coming back to the pocket but not as strong as I would have liked. I switched to a Super Carbide Bomb that I had recently received as a gift. It was simply amazing. Where I was having to soften the shot with the Diesel to get it back to the pocket, with the SCB I was able to throw it as hard as I wanted and it would still come back screaming into the pocket, blowing pins everywhere. I shot 192 with the Diesel, 235 and 234 with the SCB for a 661 set on a difficult condition that had most everyone in the house pulling thier hair out.......Thanks Lane #1!!!!

PS: Do the other Buzzsaws hit as hard as the SCB?

If so, I see a Cherry Bomb, Bullet and a XXXL in my future real soon!!!!!!

Iâ€™ve got the XXXL, Blueberry, and the Pearl Bomb. Iâ€™ve also got a mixture of Storm, Dynothane and Ebonite in the arsenal. Wore out a Cherry Pearl and a Silver Diamond. Thrown more honor scores with Lane 1 than all the others combined.

Everytime I get in trouble, Lane 1 seems to bail me out.

I'll say one thing for lane 1, the reaction really is like no other, I've never seen a ball that can be reving off your hand, still get length, give you a mid lane read AND explode on the back end. Its simply nuts. I don't care for that mid lane read and its lead me to abandon lane 1 for now, I need a ball to go down the lane before reving do to a high track that seems to burn up if I have a ball that does carry that reaction. Overall though they are a great ball and really fit a nice niche in the market. They do hit, all like a high performance ball. If you want to spend the money you know you can't go wrong... hit wise anyway.

I have never thrown a lane 1 ball, but most of them seem like very nice balls, but I have two exceptions: The 6 or 7 cherry bombs I have seen will not carry most shots it seems like, you have to get it absolutely perfect for it to get all ten, I can imagine this ball can be vexatious at times. And the other one I have seen that really stood out was the cranberry buzzsaw, I have never seen a ball carry like this one in my life! The guy throwing it averaged at about 250 for the day, becuase if this ball got even remotely close to the pocket, everything was gone, garunteed. I have seen many others like the uranium pearl, golden nugget, pro purple, but I never really payed enough attention...

Oh yeah, and if you wnat a fast revving, hard hitting ball, get the phase 2 if you can find it. This ball revs up so fast, if you just drop it by accident, it will still rev up then your other equipment on a normal shot. And this is one of those balls that loks like its gonna hit the 6 and the 10 and then goes crushing the pocket...

CNC...you just described the Dirty Bomb...try one. You'll like it !!!!

Maelstrom....the Cherry Bomb is a great ball but many people make the mistake of drilling it wrong. The Bomb core is great but does require a bit of extra care in drilling.

The only problemn I had with my Cherry Bomb was when I resurfaced it and I took it down too far and it lost the reaction. I hten found out that Brunswick finishes them off at 400 grit and polish. I did that and the reaction came back.

Cranberry Buzzsaw? That's one I didn't like. Perhaps I drilled it wrong or somehting but after my initial review of the ball I quickly fell out of favor with that ball. Again I feel it was a drill pattern issue.

Amazing, isn't it.

I don't need any more equipment right now - in fact, I've got to get rid of a bunch.
However, when I do need some more stuff, I'll likely go for lane #1. My only regret is that I rarely see enough oil for the SCB. I like throwing that ball!!!

Someone already wrote this, but let me also state that you should try a
Uranium. To me is very controllable and a very hard hitting ball.

No argument from me about HOW GOOD THE BALLS ARE! I have a few of them .. good stuff! If you shop around and come to the conclusion that the balls are COST JUSTIFIED .. you know best!
