Cranberry Info...
« on: August 01, 2003, 10:50:07 PM »
It's official...

A mailing I got from Lane 1 and they have spilled the beans....

Core very similar to the Silver Diamond but the nugget is OFFSET to the top 1/2 of the ball.

This ball ought to be very strong on the backend.

Good guess KING.

Should be a great ball from Lane #1.

Correct King but that still bothers me....how is it then a C2? The Silver Diamond is a Buzzsaw/C because of the one mini diamond. The Blueberry is a C2 because of thoe 2 mini's...

How can the Cranberry be a C2 if it only has 1 mini diamond???

Hehehehehe

I vote for the Lane1bowling.com logo that was only on the LRG's , that was my favorite, and my vote goes to bring it back.

They were showing it as a C/2 from the information that I received from lane1, but it doesn't mean it won't be changed.

So,
- Is the Cranberry a replacement for the Blueberry?
- for the Silver Diamond?
- is it a pearl?
- is it a solid?

It's not the /C core and it's not the /C2 core. What is it?

This is beginning to sound an awful lot like Storm's & Ebonite's crap: Make microscopic changes and make a big fuss about it all??

Everytime I think I am going to get a Lane#1 ball, I see stuff like this and I wonder why I should. When I wonder, I hesitate; when I hesitate, I don't buy. I was confused enough that when I started talkig to Doug about a new ball, I just ordered a Hot WIre. Betcha it would be close to the Cranberry or the Blue Berry, but I was and am so confused, I didn't even talk to Doug about a Lane#1 ball. And you know from my postings, that I am not often confused about what ball for what condition ...

King, from your earlier post...

The reaction of the cranberry will be similar but more angular than the blueberry. With the bottom nugget removed the ball will lope more and turn harder on the backend.

So more length and backend...would that seem logical???

Logically, it would seem that removing that one small internal diamond would create higher RG but more flare, but who knows until we see the specifications.
