First 300 in League - Tsunami H2O
« on: February 15, 2006, 05:17:06 AM »
Last night I finally reached one of my goals, shooting a 300 in league play. 248-300-224 = 772, high game and series in one night. The Tsunami hit like a truck all night long, one shot away from a no-tap 900, with no misses. Every shot was flush in the pocket and the 9th through the 12th put 10 in the pit each time (phew).

Averaging 224 now since the first of the year with this ball, I'm hooked on Lane #1 products big time (versus 209 beforehand).

Thanks for all of the advice, the tips and reading materials have helped a great deal.

Donretz, congratulations!  Are going to buy the gold 300 ring?  That so you will forever remember the date(its engraved inside the ring).  Great shooting ! ! ! !

The ring is a must - I've always wanted one, already sized and date will be easy Valentine's Day 2006.

Weird thing is that once I changed my spare shooting method, my strike % went way up. About 4 weeks ago, I switched to the 2-4-6 method (after reading an article on a website suggested by a member) since I was missing single pin 4's and 7's about half the time. I'm now picking them at about a 95% clip and I guess now that I don't worry about leaving them (and getting down when I missed them), my first shot is much smoother.

This web site has helped me locate so many valuable resources that I didn't know about, including of course the recommendations on Lane #1 products.

I have been away from the game for 10+ years and upon my return saw that I needed to upgrade my equipment. I researched for about a month, doing my DD on multiple manufacturers/balls and bought the Tsunami. I honestly can't say if I would have had the same results, better or worse with another manufacturer. I can say that I have not been disappointed with the Lane #1 product and that it hits unlike any other ball in our league.

I'm still working on my game (6-9 games practice a week) and was giving away too many pins missing spares, but since I switched spare techniques, I have gone 716-687-772. I was hoping that my average would jump 10 pins with the new ball, just from the better equipment, but that was no guarantee.

I'm happy, I've shown big improvement in both strike %, spare % since I have adjusted to the new ball. Still some things I need more work on, but my hand position and release have improved. Taking things in steps, still learning and wanting to improve.

Thanks for all of the kind words.
