First Lane #1 Ball!
« on: April 03, 2010, 07:52:22 AM »
Through pro-shop at my local center, just purchased my first Lane #1 ball. I usually roll Lanemasters, however, typically using 14 lb. equipment, I wanted to go back up to 15lbs.  He had a great deal on NIB 15lb. G-Force Evolution.  I had it drilled stacked, all I can say is WOW!, I like it ALOT!  Rolls so smooth with powerful backend!

Excellent, great bowling, have only thrown about 8 games with mine, but what I can tell, it seems to match up well with me.

It's a great ball, mine has a short pin in the middle of my palm, it's the most controllable pearl I've thrown.

There is not one ball I own (Lane Masters & Morich) that carries like this one does. It doesn't matter light or flush, this ball strikes. Gets down the lane with ease and revs up hard on the backend, my other equipment never carried light hits like this, nor did they take out the corners as well. Wish I would have tried Lane #1 sooner, glad I stumbled upon this ball, thanks for listening, I'm sold!

I got sick of seeing a teammate doing the same thing with his Lane #1 equipment.  No matter how many bad shots he threw he got strikes, so I finally buckled down and got some Lane #1 balls and never looked back.  Now I get to cheat too!

What is there to learn?  A bowling ball is a bowling ball.  Some just match up better than others.

I think some people confuse 'Lane 1' reactions with 'Symmetrical' reactions.
They try Lane 1, and they get the look you expect from a symmetric core.  That smooth, strong, heavy rolling, consistent ball motion.  Which also reduces a lot of over/under.  Meaning a lot more forgiving reaction, and a larger area to work with, without going through the nose, or too much angle too late leaving splits etc.  Lane 1 offers a strong line of Symmetrical balls.  I think some people confuse this 'Lane 1' miracle, with the realization that they simply match up better, and prefer the shape symmetric cores give.

The Evo is very condition-specific for me, and very oil-allergic. But when it has a real look, it really has a look. Not nearly as versatile for me as some of Lane #1's other stuff but it has a sweet spot like no other. Loves medium-light with friction downlane.

Great ball the evo.  I too have the pin in the middle of my palm.  The carry with the evolution is like no other ball i've thrown.  If the lanes are opened up just a little this thing can score!  Glad you like it!  I am a lane 1 guy but just my two cents is that not all their balls are great.  Horses for courses.  I made the mistake this year of getting a dynamo x2 before any reviews were out on it.  Well lets just say its the worst ball I've owned.  Not even close to the dynamo!

. . . what if the Evo has an asymetrical core
. . . then yours would be uneducated comment?
