HMM seems that Richie AKA Mr.Buzzsaw the man behind the diamond core may have the best knowledge of drilling the ball...it's his baby...so maybe pose that question to Mr.Buzzsaw... Have your speed, rev rate, pap and other essentials needed for proper drilling and I'm sure you'll get what is best for you

While I make no claims to be the best I have been drilling Saws for nearly 10 years. I have drilled for leftys, rightys, strokers, crankers...

I'd be more than happy to provide a suggested layout for any ball I sell.

Well Inverted the problem seems to be that many Lane 1 balls seem to act differently and almost backwards that regular symmetrical balls.

For example I drilled 2 Solid Uraniums. Both balls had 4" pins with top weights of 2.5 and 2.6 oz.

The first ball I drilled with pin at 2" off my PAP and the cg on the midline. The other ball I drilled pin 5" off PAP(pin up) with cg as close to the midline as I could. Neither ball required a weighthole.

I hit both balls with a light coat of Magic Shine out of the box and went to the lanes.

Much to my surprise the 2" pin to PAP ball went LONGER than the 5" pin to PAP ball. Now if you read Lane 1's drill sheet they state that rolling the pin more to the 3:00 position in relation to the CG provides more length. Rolling the pin towards the 9:00 position creates less length.

The only rationale I can come to grips with on this topic is that the core shape creates much more dynamic imbalance at a 5" position that the 2" position and therefore generates earlier hoook.

I tried this experiment with another pair of Lane 1 balls (H2O's) and I got the same results.

When I tried this experiment with a pair of Special Agents I got just the opposite results....the 2" pin to PAP ball rolled much earlier than the 5" ball.

I am sure there is no "magic" here and that there is a sound scientific explanation but it seems odd.

i was told to get an evolution and put pin 1/2 right and 1/2 down from ring finger..with a ball with 2 inch pin and 2.5 starting top...was told the mb isnt strong enough to worry about...may try this..
