Good weekend with Cobalt and Bullet
« on: April 23, 2006, 08:45:58 AM »
I just got back from the Ohio Men's Inter-City tourny in Toledo Ohio. Yesterday was team event. Saturday as a team, we did OK but not well enough to expect any cash. It was a THS on the lighter side with bone dry from about 5 to the ditch. I threw the Cobalt all three games and shot 729 (269 right out of the gate). I started out 10 (at the arrows) to 6 (at the breakpoint), and ended up 14 to 8. I know that is not inside for some of you guys with hand, but an "up the boards" stroker like me is not in his comfort zone swinging across the third arrow.

Anyhow, Sunday in Doubles, I shoot 255/225/186 for a 669 (again with the Cobalt). Same shot as the day prior, but it seemed to go away faster and more severely. When I knew we were out of the running and my game was in the can, I grabbed my Bullet. 12 to 7. Strike. Strike. Hmmm.shoulda tried this sooner.

Next three games were for singles. 233. First ten, 8, spare = 288 (yeah, I dropped it, crashed the nose, and left the 6-10). 210.
I shot 731 with the Bullet! I still cannot believe it. It was the perfect ball for those conditions. Not quite toasty enough for the XXXL, but way to dry for anything else in my bag.

2129 for nine games might get me a little cash for all-events.
My fingers are crossed.
All in all, it was a fun weekend: I bowled better than I have in months, and the Track guys had to be wondering what it would have been like to be throwing a Buzzsaw! (sorry guys...had to get in at least one little dig!)

Yeah....my 10 Robos didn't give me the look up the boards you had....I was swinging the ball and had a decent shot, but a little out of my comfort zone, and it showed with a bad shot here and there....Desert would have probably been a better choice, but oh well.

You threw the ball well all weekend and probably deserved a little better as well!
