G-Force
« on: December 31, 2006, 12:50:13 AM »
The skinny I hear coming from the boys in Syracuse is one of increased excitement regarding this ball. I am not only talking to some of the guys from Lane 1 but other bowlers in the area.

Richie and the Lane 1 guys do not have a big following in their home town...in fact they are downright despised by many. However my understanding is that the tide has been changing recently for whatever reason and now this new ball is turning some heads.

Richie used his head and has been watching where the market is going. Mild asymmetrical balls and strong resin coverstocks are really taking hold of much of the bowling world. Sure there are lots of weak coverstock/ core combos that are selling a lot but let's face it Scout/R's and PowerGrooves will always sell.

I do not yet have one in my hands but I can say that the theory behind the core design and the coverstock choice sounds like it's going to be a winner to me.

I'll be offering this ball at a competitive price so check with me before buying. I will also be offering custom drilling for this ball including inserts and slug for an additional $35. The customer will also be getting the special edition G-Force gripsack that Lane 1 is so generously including with each of it's pre-orders.

And lastly don;t forget that I'll be the first online shop to get them in stock due to my close proximity to Lane 1. If I get enough orders I'll go pick the balls up personally and reship them that day!!!

Please drop me an e-mail or PM with any questions or orders.

Doug, do you know any of the specs for this ball? RG, diff, mb diff etc... Is it a strong reactive, or particle, is it simillar to the action coverstock?

I love Lane#1 equipment, but the advertising for their gear stinks, it tells you nothing except hype, and needs to be read with the BE THERE BE THERE BE THERE MONSTER TRUCK RALLY VOICE.

I always miss out on the pre sale because I don't want to buy something I don't need or may not work for me, and I don't usually buy something I know very little about, how am I supposed to know how I want this ball drilled if I don't know any of the specs for it?

OK Coach here's what I can tell you....

Strong reactive coverstock...Detonator Solid
15# Differential.... .051
15# RG Min.......... 2.516
15# RG Max.......... 2.568
75% of the hook will be on the backend

Hook rating is 115 out of 120. At a 115 hook rating it puts it in the same bracket as the Solid and Enriched Uraniums (110 of 120). The Super Carbide Bomb was the 120 so this ball is going to hook.

I have the spec sheet, drill sheet and sell sheet. Drop me your email and I'll send them to you if you want.

Are these balls for oil that is on the heavier side of oil. For example, I never see heavy oil and seldom see medium-heavy either so a ball in that catergory wouldn't benefit me. To sum up my question, what oil range area does this ball fall in?

Thanks again Doug, I sent you the email. It sounds like this ball will be replacing the Solid Uranium.

I wish companies like Lane#1 and MoRich that have covers poured for them would at least tell us the base cover stock.  We've eventually found out what some of them are, but knowing whether it's base is M80 or Superflex might make it easier to make a decision.  RG and differential numbers are great, but the cover is still the most important thing.

Sorry for the hijack.

With that much hook it sounds like it will be for heavy oil just wondering if it is M80 based or some other coverstock.

Nails,

The coverstock is based on the M-80 cover BUT remember that there are 6 or 7 versions of solid M-80 out there and then Lane 1 (just Like MoRich) have it tweaked with additives to meet their needs.

Brickguy,

The ball is going to be a heavier oil ball BUT with a backend rating like this ball has I feel it'll work well with a pin high drilling and polish for medium lanes.

Sorry Buzzhead...I had a friend try to help me update my pages and it looks like he didn't change the link. I'll try to get it fixed up later.....this should work but I can't guarantee it's up to date...

http://www.dougsproshop.net/usedballs.html

I have gone thru quite a few balls lately since the junior bowlers are prepping for some tournies etc...

I'll try to get it updated and posted later today.

Thanks for the info Doug.  I know that they tweak the base cover material to get the properties they want, but it is a big help to know what they're starting with.

6 or 7 versions of solid M80?  I knew of 2 + the pearl.  If you have more details on this, could you list them or some of the balls with the different versions?  Feel free to PM them so we don't keep getting away from the original subject.
