G-Force Solid Drilling
« on: March 03, 2008, 09:13:51 AM »
I have a G-Force Solid drilled CG-out leverage (with the pin directly below the ring finger).  It rolls early and hooks/sets midlane and I can only play straight up first or second arrow.  The ball cannot turn the corner on the backend if I move any further left and try to swing it outside.

I have a Black Widow Bite that plays great swinging inside-out but only on medium volumes of oil and until carrydown causes it to skid past the break point.  I really like this line where I bowl - gives me the greatest margin for error.  However, only works when conditions are medium to medium-dry (for me that is).

What difference in reaction could I expect if I had the G-Force Solid plugged and re-drilled stacked with the pin next to the ring finger about 4 inches from PAP ?  Would that help me swing the ball in heavier volumes of oil ?

Thanks.

Is the ball polished or dull oob..? You have 2 balls that seem to do different things. This is good, why not use the balls for the conditions they both work..? =:^D

Thanks T-GOD.

The G-Force is wet-sanded to 2000 grit, and the Bite is out-of-box at 4000 abralon.  I am hesitating to re-drill for that very reason - they do different things.  However, I have been scoring much higher using the Bite (drilled stacked) from the inside throwing it out to the drier boards, I wanted something to use for that same line to the pocket but for heavier oil conditions.  With its current drilling, the G-Force does not play well for me along that inside-out line (not enough revs I suppose).  Do you think it will if I drill it stacked?  Don't know if the reason the Bite works so well for me is its strong assymetrical core, or if the G-Force will also work.

Any idea?

Just my 2 cents opinion here. Have you ever tried a lower
grit surface on the G-Force Solid?
I have a G-Force Solid drilled CG-out leverage.
Out of box finish (10 micron which is equivalent
to 1000 grit), the ball skates and recovers late
on lanes with carrydown.
To make it grab the lane a lot more earlier, I use
a green scotch brite to take the surface down
around 400 to 600 grit.
Another thing, does your G-Force has a balance
hole? Balance hole positioning is another factor
to increase flare (more hook at the backend).
