Title: G-Force?
Post by: Shaggy on January 20, 2007, 02:00:06 AM
I have the Carbide + and the Cobalt Solid.  The Cobalt Solid is a monster in oil and the Carbide + provides a different look on a heavy oil shot.  I am a fan of Lane#1 balls, but I just don't see a need for the G-Force based on the current Lane#1 lineup.

You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!

Well for me and allot of other guys the C+, the current heavy oil ball, just doesn't get it down when it's real wet.  The G-force should fill that need perfectly...

I don't recall every ball was said to be for a heavy oil .. it seems you're exaggerating a bit

pearl Uranium, H2O, Tsunami, HDB, BCB, Cobalt Pearl, HRG .. etc  are for meduim and some can handle meduim-heavy ...

what most people are missing is that all these previous lane#1 balls with bigB will be never be remade .. now with C300 .. the whole line up will need to be re-made

I am with zeus on this one...the Carbide+ is pretty much a turd in my hands. I even gave it a second chance by plugging and redrilling with a completely different layout. I am glad to hear the g-force is a strong oiler. I bowl in one house that puts out soup for the crankers. Sounds like it will be a good matchup.

Both of my C+'s I had didn't really match up great with oil. The G Force looks like a ball that would fit my game great, and may invest in one down the road someday.

I have to agree with others who stated ythat the C+ was not an heavy oil ball, for me not even a medium/heavy ball.  Neither was the orginal Carbide.  I'm glad to hear they are coming out with a ball that can handle more oil then the Solid Uranium.

But I will not stay long with Lane 1 if I have the same success with Lane 1 as I did Columbia.

I wouldn't call mine a turd, actually it's my favorite ball and I use it 90-95% of the time.  Just when the shot is heavier I have to go to my EU and would actually like something a bit stronger then it..

It just does not do it in oil for me, zeus. It may work for others, but it's not at the top of my "favorite oilers" list. I said "It's a turd in my hands". For someone with more revs, it may work in oil. I need a little more help in oil than the C+ is able to give. I have used it with different levels of success on other conditions, but I have other saws that match up much better most of the time.

try a super carbide bomb if you can't make your carbide + roll in oil.  I don't have as much hand as many on this site, but I have learned, sometimes the hard way, that this ball shines in heavy oil.  Mine I have to put away as soon as the oil starts going away, mainly because I tend to think like I normally do, find dry and make it flip over.  Mine starts its heavy roll at my feet.  All I want a ball to do in oil is roll up heavy into the pocket.  No flips, no rolling out.  It does tend to drive me nuts

HIGHJACK UPDATE:

I finally found a use for my Carbide+. Our PBA experience league ran the Scorpion pattern again this week. All this talk about the Carbide+ made me curious. I figured I'd throw a few practice balls with it tonight, then go back to the BCB I used last week. Nope. The Carbide+ was in my hands all night long, and it was a wonderful choice for this pattern. I was playing across ten at the arrows to about 8 at the breakpoint. I noticed it was not as jumpy on the backends...just a nice hard arc and incredible roll through the pocket. Hit and carry were terrific. I wholeheartedly take back my previous "turd" comments. I just never found the right condition for the ball... until tonight!

The G-Force is not going to be able to handle the extreme oil either if you have no hand. For that, you will have to go to a particle ball. probably a Super Carbide Bomb if you can find one!

I agree RRay. But they tried the Solid Uranium for extreme oil and it was not as advertised, as did Brunswick wit the Ultimate Inferno, Track with the Mean Machine, Columbia with the Action, and so on. Bottm line is particle balls handle the extreme oil alot better than solid reactive covers unless you have plenty of hand.

Inverted 1,

Yes I was at Fountain Bowl for the 1 PM squad.  My 4 ball bag says Lane 1.  So we were close.  If you were that close to me though, then Thongprincess was probaly right behind you.

Hope you did better then I did.  Though I did have fun with my 15 year old son who also had a great experience.  It was great to see Thingprincess again and bowl with Buzzsaw4me.
