I just ran across this. It may depend on which silver you have. I had an original (well, still have it) and it was not a dry lane ball. It loved the dry, but only to bounce off of. I also had a re-issue, and it was much more of a true dry lane ball. But that may have had to do with layout. My guess is that you have the newer version, and, if so, and you drill it (say) pin above bridge, cg under, it will (imo) work well on the dry. (FYI, as far as I know you can tell by the color - the original seems to have a sort of yellowish tint that was lacking in the re-issue. You could also email Richie the serial no. and find out.)
