pk18 pearl, medium oil, strong cover, great core  might be able to hit some drier shots but it really is intended for medium oil, even todays oild

Agree with Trig more a medium than a dry lane ball. I prefer PK17 (Sapphire Zone pearl)for the drier conditions
Mine is original issue with a simple label drill and still is the only med pearl I use.MANY games on this cover and it still rolls strong.

I have 3.  Honestly, I hate the ball.  Can't get the same reaction twice.  Leaves tons of single pins.  When it hits, it hits.  But when it doesn't, you can bet it doesn't.

I wouldn't recommend the ball to anyone.  However, I know that this is one of the most coveted balls from Lane 1 and many are in a constant search for one.

Good luck.

I just ran across this.  It may depend on which silver you have.  I had an original (well, still have it) and it was not a dry lane ball.  It loved the dry, but only to bounce off of.  I also had a re-issue, and it was much more of a true dry lane ball.  But that may have had to do with layout.  My guess is that you have the newer version, and, if so, and you drill it (say) pin above bridge, cg under, it will (imo) work well on the dry.  (FYI, as far as I know you can tell by the color - the original seems to have a sort of yellowish tint that was lacking in the re-issue.  You could also email  Richie the serial no. and find out.)

If I remember correctly there were 2 variations that could be differentiated by the color of the logos. As I remember there were some with a yellow logo and others with red logos. The red logos were a bit tamer while the yellow logoed balls were significantly more aggressive.

I may have those backwards.......
