I'm starting in a sport shot league early may and want a new ball. I'm a tweener throwing it about 16 mph with medium revs.
Thanks for the advice.
-
how long is the pattern? or are the going to vary the length?

For sport shots i like something with surface drilled for an arch with control. My LevRG works great on them, as did my Nsane LevRG.

It's a 39 foot flat sport shot.

Greater than c? Why not?
Always attempt that which others say is impossible, just to be sure.

I bowl on a 40 foot flatter sport shot, I like to use something that can get down the lane, so I have liked something thats polished up at a higher grit and can get down to 45+ feet before breaking. For me personally I can use something with a more arc reaction but it has been nothing but inconsistent from every spot on the lane except VERY straight. The longer, snappier ball I feel gives me a little more room and on our shot the middle of the lane burns out fast and the polish gets it over that. Good luck!

Thanks Bighook.
I forgot to mention that they are synthetic lanes too.

I was thinking about the Supernova XP for the sport shot. Would that be a good ball to use or something else? I finally have the funds for a Lane 1 ball and I want to get it right.

From what I seen the XP is very mild and weak. For most sport shots this is more of what I prefer because if its less then a shark pattern, its hard to keep in the pocket. My friend had the supernova and it worked really well for most shots with a pin down layout it was smooth of the spot. Really good ball.

Doubt the xp would work that great, I would try something more along the lines of the regular Supernova. But that just my opinion, there are plenty of people on there that have bowled on them alot more that I have.

What can I say, I'm from the south! I know how to work a SAW

I will keep preaching the virtues of the buzzbomb, 39 feet is not overly long and still provides plenty of backend, being a flat shot or flatter shot, straighter is greater, but as i stated 39 feet still gives room for bounce, I prefer a solid ball with a little polish to get you that extra 2 feet or so on the end nice smooth arc, hockey stick shaped movement for me doenst cut it
the new teal coming out may hit this shot well, the nebula will be pretty decent as well, my advice is stay away from the skid snap

I guess I am one o the ones who got a strong supernova XP. Mine hooks alot but is controlled. Strongest pearl I have ever thrown, recovery is amazing.
