Green Carbide Bomb
« on: June 11, 2008, 12:48:12 PM »
Does anyone still throw this ball? i decided to give mine a try this summer (sport leagues) drilled stacked, pin above fingers to right of ring finger, surface is @ 1000/polished.  This is the most fun buzzsaw i've thrown, flares more than my BCB and Hooks more than Buzzbomb and carries the house! My Buzz doesn't even make it out the bag anymore.  GCB Used $36 + ship, BB New $180, only me, lol!

Pulled mine out of the closet for the second half of last year (along with my Uranium Pearl). Loverd the Green Carbide Bomb, and to this day, was always stronger than both of my Super Carbide Bombs (though it couldn't outhook my Super Carbide....maybe cause it was 16# so I'd throw it a bit slower). Unfortunately, is now sitting in my 4-ball bag in the closet, as I just did the Visionary test staff, and right now it just doesn't have a spot in the bag (unless something that I punch up new just doesn't cut it)...

PS...I will say this, however, that the Green Carbide Bomb was the only Lane#1 ball with the Bomb core that I actually liked. Couldn't stand the Dirty Bomb, and both Super Carbide Bombs I had rolled like crud compared to my Black Super Carbide. I thought that I didn't match up to the block, until the Army Green showed up!

The Green Bomb was a single density bomb core. The Dirty and the Super Bomb cores were multi density cores and that could have led to your not matching up as well. I had better luck with the pins high on the Original bomb cores and mutch better luck with lower pins on the super and Dirty bomb cores...

Beans,

You know, I never really thought about that. I knew that the newer Bomb cores were multi-density, but never really added the 2 + 2 to realize this! Maybe I'll look into some of the stuff with the same Bomb core as the Army Green. For sheer laziness, happen to know off the top of your head which balls this would apply to?

Try the Pearl Carbide Bomb, if you can find one.  I believe it's the particle pearl version of the Green Carbide Bomb.  I'm just as impressed with this ball and can't wait to get it on a THS!
