Yes. I saw a prototype back in August at a trade show. If they haven't scrapped it, I heard that Ritchie wanted to make sure that the clarity, core size and color scheme was perfect which is why it hasn't come out yet. Don't know when it will if it does, though.

Thanks for the input, Andy. I hope it come out soon. I need to complete my Lane 1 arsenal.

Roy .. go with the black XXXL ... the Clear is suppossed to be hideous..
Besides.. give a little love to the old school all black plastic era...
-
The one I saw looked pretty cool...

I'm old school myself. I stopped bowling in 1989 and just picked up the sport a few months ago. But with the new ball technology, I have to re-learn how to throw the ball by not putting too much hand on it. With the clear XXXL I will be able to see easily the change of axis when I practice different releases.
I also bought a new pair of bowling shoes (after 20+ years) - ABS Tour Ultra. What a difference in support and slide. I am now very balanced on the slide.

plastic is plastic really......the difference you'll see in hardness won't translate to the lane to the novice/ameteur bowler

Jeff, an 88 hardness plastic is not really the same as a 72 hardness plastic.
If my memory is correct, that would be the difference between a Blue Dot and a Bleeder. Certainly, they're not the same, whether you're an novice amatuer league bowler or not. =:^D
-
T-GOD, I was thinking more like the difference between a Bleeder and a Black Diamond, but same idea.

I think Jeff is getting brainwashed by the same people who say CG don't matter..!! They're probably right, plastic is plastic. =:^D
-
The BIG difference will be is that the weight block will be smaller, thus the flare and hit will change; it will be a definitely spare ball only. I may get one, but think I will stick to my black one because it serves as a strike and spare ball with hitting power.

Jeff: Trust me, the XXXL is proof that plastic is not plastic.
The XXXL moves, and you don't have to be a professional to prove it out. That's why I use a Columbia Blue Dot for spares; my XXXL is too strong to always count on going straight.

Well, I receive an answer from Ritchie. As Trig said, it will be a smaller diamond core.
It will not be called XXXL but something else.
The projected availability is June.
