Title: Has anyone had this problem with Lane #1?
Post by: rockerbowler18 on October 11, 2008, 02:30:55 PM
I'm a high tracker with a high revrate. Everything I have tracks high, but for some reason, the Lane 1 equipment I through has a tendency to roll over the thumb, if not a complete full roller track.

I've taken video and it's not that I'm throwing the ball different. For some reason, it just rolls different.

How can I fix this problem, or should I just get rid of my Lane 1's?

Unfortunately, I can't upload the video due to the fact that it's nowhere near me right now.

Laid out pin under ring, CG in palm.

Which balls are you having trouble with?
I had a Carbide+ that was mismarked and caused similar issues.

I've had several older balls from BIG B that were mismarked with this problem. On the other hand...You should try longer pin out balls with strong pin placement to PAP above the fingers. This will raise the bowtie and help keep the track away from the holes.

I was thinking the same thing. That's what I did with my playmaker, Beans.

Pin is up above ring finger by about an inch and a half, with CG MB kicked out and weight hole on PAP.

The specific ball I'm having problems with is the SuperNova, but I have the same problem (just not as bad) with my Enriched Uranium.

rocker, there could be a problem with mis-marked pins with some brunswick poured balls, but am surprised to hear that one is with the SuperNova. Lane #1 balls in general tend to bring your track up a bit, due to their heavy rolling nature with the diamond core.

I would check to see if there's some thumb weight in the ball. This could bring the track up a bit more than normal. Let us know what you find out. =:^D

Label strikes again...

In all seriousness I am a high tracker/high rev bowler as well and I'm sure countless people will tell you my feelings on that drilling.

I've found when I run into issues like your having if I shine up the cover a bit it helps keep the track off the fingers/thumb.

Another Idea could be the addition or relocation of the X-Hole, but talk with your driller about that.
