charlest, I understand what you're saying, and I think that you actually started to answer my question in your last paragraph when you state that "there seem to have been some heavy oil balls made lately that will get a little more length than normal and still be able to have some hook in heavy oil."
That is exactly what I'm talking about
Don't get me wrong, on the conditions I described, I don't expect any ball to cover 30 boards. And my Icon300 has been very good to me, it's been my go to ball in the soup. But I'm looking for more, isn't that what keeps the r&d guys hopping? Getting us more?
So, what I'm curious about is what my fellow bowlers have seen in heavy oil, little backend conditions with some of these new balls. My Icon300 is as you describe, a slightly bent banana, hooking maybe 5 boards at the end. In my quest for more I want to know what others have seen with the phenom, V2 strong, throttle, black cherry bomb, super carbide bomb etc. You know, the new heavy oil stuff. What kind of reaction are y'all seeing with these balls in the soup?
