Against my better judgment . .
« on: March 24, 2004, 06:16:46 PM »
I'm drilling a Uranium.  It was kind of a last minute decision, I had planned on only drilling Storm from now on, but they whole label thing kinda has me hacked off.  Not to mention that my Reloaded SUCKED, it's drilled 3.5x3 with a weighthole and won't hook.  My new X-Factor's about the same.  I don't care WHAT the Uranium does as long as it does it consistently.  If it reacts strong on the backend, fine, if it's smooth and arcy, fine.  Most of my Storm stuff can't decide what it wants to do.  My first original X is my control ball, but it doesn't hook much, and my Hot Wire is my oil ball, and it hooks and keeps hooking, so at least they're consistent.  Now what I need is a ball between those two that I can use for my main league ball, and that's what I'd like the Uranium to be.  As long as it's consistent at the breakpoint, that's all I care about.  Drilling suggestions?  High tracker, between 17 and 18 mph, anywhere from 200-350 revs (don't you dare say a word Eric, lol . . ).

Pretty much any arc layout will get you the consistancy your looking for. As with all buzzsaws I have found them to love arc layouts. I would go 4x2 or 4x25 degrees pin low. It also depends on your top wieght and pin out distance as for how much I would kick the cg right. I have never had any luck with stacked layouts with buzzsaws, I track pretty high and can realy saw on the ball.

Hamster, this ball really works great. For heavier oil, I would go with a 5 x 3. For mediums, the ball works great stacked around 4 1/4. For slightly drier conditions, 4 x 4 1/2 should work  well. You really can't go wrong with this ball. =:^D

Hamster study the reviews on the Uranium and see how other people are drilling them and compare your style to their style. As for me, I am a low rev bowler with a sort of label type drilling and the ball is super for me. I just posted a review on the Uranium a couple days or so ago. All details are in my post. Read it as well as the others.
