Title: Help me polish my Buzzbomb
Post by: AK47 on February 27, 2008, 06:02:53 AM
Hey guys really respect your opinions and knowledge. I just bought a Buzzbomb yesterday and threw it for a game in league (207) but left 4 or 5 single pins. But i believe that the ball was burning up, man this thing grips the lane as soon as it touches! Too aggressive for my Tuesday night shot (medium - light oil). Any suggestions to what modifications i could make to get the ball through the heads? I'm just learning all the science of the game thanks. please no Lane 1 haters, thank you.

Oh, yeah, I took out the Enriched Uranium for the next two games (278, 233) I love that ball! It had no trouble in the heads OOB condition.

rough buff right on top of the box finish for me it is perfect, your results may vary It looks to be in the 4k range now which is about what most medium shots like on a newer strong solid reactive.

I used Storm Step #3 on mine and it appeared to do the trick on synthetics.  I will get to try it out on wood tonight.

I would take it to 4000 and try it at that surface before adding polish.  In fact, my Buzzbomb is drilled almost identical to yours and I am going to try the 4000 surface tonight.  I'll report back after I bowl tonight.  So far I have only tried it in box finish (1000), and have gotten a poor reaction thus far.

Should be interesting to compare our results considering that the layout is so similar.  I think mine has been over-flaring thus giving me a poor reaction.  My PAP is 5 over 1/2 up, slightly different than yours.

For me, first things first: I will try a couple of different surfaces, but if they don't work, I'll try a new layout (if I don't sell it first).

Thundercat and SprayNPray, i'm anxious to hear your results. I like the thought of taking it up to 4000 and not adding polish. thanks guys.

Mine is drilled exactly like yours and it is to strong as well. Let me know what kind of results you get with a 2000 - 4000 surface.

I have found that 2000 with polish works good on the BB. Shot 654 last night on my THS. Should have been 700 missed 3 10 pins in the first game.

either buy a spinner and start doing surface changes on your own, or take it to your pro shop guy and have him polish it for you.

BTW spinner was the best thing I have EVER bought that is bowling related

As I do not have a spinner I took it to the pro shop. Tell them you want to have it bumped to 2000 abralon and polished. Try it out for about 3 games if that is still to strong try 4000 w/no polish.

I am a right handed tweener 16-17 mph. My BB is drilled stacked leverage w/ a weight hole.

AK,

Storm Step 3 was too much for the wood lane house.  It was perfect for the synthetic house.  Next week before bowling on the wood, I am going to hit it with a 4000 pad.

Hope this helps,
Jeff

buzzsawlefty300 help me out, how is your ball drilled and how did the sauce change the reaction of your ball.  Is it hitting harder? Have you scored better with it? thanks
