why Lane#1
« on: October 27, 2005, 11:11:09 AM »
I've never heard of Lane#1 up until about 4 months ago. What makes this brand so compatible to so many bowlers? I have a friend that bought his first Lane#1 ball a Uranium Pearl used from his driller, and now he swears by it. He will not buy any other ball from other company now. He owns like 5 now, Black Cherry Bomb, XXXL, Hybrid Dirty Bomb, Viper, and maybe a Tsunami coming his way. Another friend have a Black Cherry Bomb, and he doesn't want to throw his other equipment anymore. I was very intrigued myself too, so my girlfriend chipped in with a couple of friends and got me a H2O, and I love it. But I would still want to try other companies.

I'm not trying to start anything with other posters here, just something thats been in my mind. But what is it about this company that intrigued you into becoming a true Sawhead?

Inverted 1, Cerritos bowl lanes 1 & 2 what fun. Did someone go horseback riding on lane 1 approach or what? Fountain is a great center, I love bowling there. My daughter & Mike Devaney grew up & bowled juniors together. They bowled on the same teams in city, state, & all that stuff.
We'll probably run across each other someday!

In regards to your customer service experience, Brian Purcell (back when he was with Ebonite) provided the same level.

Wrong Side, it may have been that way with Ebonite, but it sure isn't that way with Track. Let me give you an example of my recent experience with him......
I bought a Track Xception 5.0 a little over 2 months ago. The ball never worked for me from the first time I threw it. I sent an Email to Brian Purcel asking for help/advice------No answer----I sent a second Email----No answer----I messaged a couple of Track Staff members on this site and they tried to help, but the ball still never worked for me. Even on a good hit, it hits like a sack of mashed potatoes so I finally removed it from my bag and threw it into my closet.

I have come to the opinion that the ball doesn't match up to me......The point to all I have just said here is that Brian Purcel doesn't appear to provide the same type customer service for Track as the Lane 1 users say that Richie/Lane 1 does.

I've thrown stuff from every major company and have the 300 rings to prove it. But,this was back int he late 80's and early 90's. My last 300 was with a Brunswick HPD,which I retired a couple of years ago after several years of steady use. It was a good ball.
After trying newer stuff I tried Lane #1 and it carries ten pins better for me and gives me a better mix at the pocket on light hits. It made me go and buy all Lane # 1.
Am I saying that other companies make bad stuff???? Nope. They pretty much amke good equipment all around. It comes down to which company makes the right cover/core matchup for you.I'll never bad mouth another company, but fior me Lane#1 simply matches up to me better.

nd300,

That is what I have said, just because I say that Lane 1 stuff is the best, is not saying that other companies make bad stuff.  I have NEVER said that other stuff is crap, nor have I bashed any equipment from other companies, I have merely stated that there is nothing better than Lane 1.  Other companies make "good" stuff, but Buzzsaws are the best  On one hand you have good or even great stuff, and on the Saw hand (I mean other hand) you have tremendously phenomenal stuff,  LOL!!!

Sorry B, for any misunderstanding, but maybe you are too easily irritated; maybe it is just the dark..., oops I mean leftside!!
