Can somebody help me to ID these balls??
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=16kzyp3&s=4
You can see flecks in the lighter colored one on the right.Light blue, with some marbling.
Darker one on the left is a DEEP purple, almost black. Solid color, with no marbling.
The lighter one looks like the Carbides on Lane 1's website, but couldn't find one that looks like the darker one.
Are they the Pearl and regular Carbide (just darker than the picture on the website)???
Any ideas on a surface to start with on them as the both could use a re-surfacing????
Thanks for any help.

i would say the one on the right is the pearl carbide
where as the one on the left is the original carbide.
for the orig. i would go with 400 grit plus rough buff or maybe Quick Kut & Polish
and for the pearl id go 800 or 1000 plus polish.

I would say your right, unless the darker one also says "Super" on the Carbide logo.

No super just Carbide, it just looks alot darker than the photo on Lane 1's site. They were given to me, along with a Buzzsaw Uranium.
Thanks.

the original carbide and carbide pearl were a very dark blue, with the pearl tending to have more phasing in it, from the ones I've seen, I had both with the solid being almost solid navy blue and the pearl having some very slight swirling and being a tad lighter
both balls do very well with polish, I never found both to be nice oilers but with polish they both were great benchmark balls, prior to the XP my highest set was with the carbide solid

Not the best picture but Solid and Pearl is probably correct. You could see very slight silver in the pearl and you could actually see the particle.
If they have the same labels exactly that is what you have. I sold over 250 Solid Carbide Solids and Pearls and all the Solid Carbide Solids were dark navy. There was no shading difference like in the Carbide Plus. Some were lighter than others..
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I'm going to see my driller tonight, I'm sure he can identify them for me.
I have a bottle of Secret Sauce in my bag, any recommendations for trying it on these balls??
