Usually when this discussion comes up we talk about the XXXL and the Starburst for a dry lane ball. Unfortunately one man''s dry lane ball is another man''s medium oil ball. Depending on speed, release, drilling and surface prep all contribute to how a ball is going to handle a specific lane condition. I like the THS. I think the THS can be drilled and the surface prep can handle the light oil and possibly the short oil, but dry lanes, I mean dry lanes, the XXXL series works the best for me.
Even the XXXL can be too much ball if you don''t keep the surface cleaned and polished and/or drill the ball too strong. Bowlers today seem to shy away from plastic almost at any cost rather then to throw a plastic for a strike.
