Bowler's Dilemma: H20 or Bullet?
« on: July 19, 2005, 02:39:27 AM »

  To all Lane 1 Faithful...

If you were faced with the choice of getting only one
of the following at the present time which would you choose
and why?

Your choices are an H20 or Bullet. (As you might guess, this is
my dilemma soon.)

Thanks!

What are you wanting the balls to do they are both tame with the bullet being super tame and for me more archy.  The H20 is very very long even with pin below but has a lot more backend than the bullet ever dreamed of.  Both are great balls but fit to different niches.  What are you looking for?  Honestly the  H20 has made me for the mean time stop using my bullet but I can't let i go because I know I can't duplicate its reaction and one day I might need it agian.  For me the bullet is the truest of true dry lane balls I have had and the H20 is a little stronger.

Hmmmm well if I HAD to choose one I guess my vote would have to be the H2O. Although I would have to tame it down a bit. (slower speed and tons-o-hand).

I guess a control drilling on the h2o would be my choice. If you don't hook the ball like I do... Strengthen it up a bit and go for it.

i have an H2O undrilled, and the locator pin is to the left of the CG & PIN (if they were stacked 12:00).

if it were drilled label at 1:30 the locator is left of the thumb hole.

if the locator pin ends up close to my track, how will the ball react?

BTW pin out is 2.5"

well buddiesproshop has a page with a mass bias chart and from what i can see it would end up being just how i want it, a control layout for the 3rd game to follow up my uranium.

I had my original H2O drilled with the MB left of the thumb and the pin 4" off my PAP.

I found the ball to be pretty weak on the backend but very smooth all the way to the pins. Never seemed to rev up as they say.

my pin was dead right of the ring finger, cg basically stacked under...yes the cg was kicked out from the pin to MB line....AND it had top weight under 2 oz so all those factors may have created the reaction I saw.

I would go with the H2O

it is the first ball that comes out of the bag

mine is 2" pinout with 3oz TW and drilled stacked with the pin just below the finger line

I can play extremely down-n-in or swing the ball .. it has a great backend

    Great googlily moogily...

Ask a seemingly simple question, leave for a few hours, then come back
to find all this great info....

    thanks all...

Well, after a long thought process and really studying my situation
(houses, conditions, current coaching, and style) I went for the Bullet.

But, of course, I ended up adding the H_sub2_O to my ball wishlist in the
process, so what I have decided is there really is no delimma. A person
just needs to delay gratification a bit and get both.

    I'm hooked...
