The BCB was one of the few saws I just could not get a feel for. With the layout I had on it, it was just to agressive for the conditions I bowled on there just was not enough oil for me to use the BCB to give it a good try out.

Rabiddog, I'm trying to learn something about Bomb Cores. Where was the Pin and CG located on your BCB?

I had the pin above and slightly right of the ring finger and the Cg swung right about 2 inches with a huge X-Hole on my pap the ball flared like nine inches.
On the shots I tried it out on it just rolled out on me and would not hit because it had nothing left to give on the backend I still have it and a NIB and have been thinking about either plugging the first one and having a weaker layout put on it or drill up the NIB weaker. The one that is allready drilled I might just keep it the way it is for heavier conditions if I ever encounter them.

Thanks Rabiddog. I'm going to drill a Solid Cobalt Bomb as soon as this ice storm we are having passes. Will try to drill it next week sometime. Ball has a 2 1/4" Pin and I am giving thoughts at the moment to drilling it Pin under RF and CG out. (4 1/4 x 3 1/2) Although the Enriched Uranium doesn't have a bomb core, that is the drilling I used on it and that ball is a monster and currently the first ball out of my bag.

yes it will, if the lane was 200 ft long, sure thing!

I have not run into that condition yet.
Forgive me for not realizing that we were talking about fantasy bowling where you can make up the parameters to suit your argument.

I have some balls that flare more than others. I have also thrown the same ball as a fellow bowler, and witnessed his ball flare more than mine. Doesn't it stand to reson that every revolution will add a flare ring until the point the ball rolls out? I was merely stating that even with my higher speed and lack of revs, the BCB flares alot. Maybe I am having a bad day, but it seems to me you look for any reson to contradict everybody. How does that help anyone?

J Mac, why even bother to post when you have nothing useful to offer?

I'll re-phrase the question.......

"Can anyone tell me the differences between the Black Cherry Bomb and the Solid Cobalt Bomb"?

Don't you think your inquiry would also be better suited to a new topic?  You're on the brink of hijacking a topic just like the "punks" here that everyone loves to hate...

Quoting the knuckleball scenario supports the above.
Who outside of 8 year old kids with plastic, knuckleball it?

you get what im saying, thats all that matters.

watch the brunswick video, it will further illustrate my point.

Mav: the premise of the video is that balls flare to varying degrees, but that it doesn't necessarily make much difference in ball reaction. They showed different drill patterns on the same model ball to generate different amounts of flare, video taped reaction, and proclaimed 'not much difference'.

Well, after watching the video several times, that 'not much difference' is in fact a subtle but measurable difference. The ball drilled to generate additional flare created a small amount of additional backend reaction, which in the hands of a good bowler can translate to another 10 pins a game.

The BCB is a ball with high flare potential, which in the hands of the right bowler can lead to enhanced reaction. That's all many here are trying to convey.

Based on all this, I'm not sure what you're point is.

this is my last post on this subject, as my original post wasnt meant to take away from the original subject.

My Last Word:

Put some turn on the ball, see where it flares.
Throw the ball flat, see where it flares.

"Hand" has nothing to do with it, it flares the same.

Meh, like most posts here it got all jacked up.  I added more information to my original post in hopes to make up for my less helpful additions to the topic.
