I am definitely not a Lane 1 basher. In fact I use almost exclusively Lane 1 Gear. I have a Cobalt bomb, Solid Uranium and Super cobalt bomb in my arsenal right now. What this post is about is the Videos they show on the Lane 1 site. A few things I have noticed, first you rarely see the bowlers starting position, only the ball as it is released. It would be nice to see the starting position, approach, release then the ball reaction, then we can see how many boards are really being covered. Secondly and I always wondered, the Bowlers on the Videos must be great because never miss, strike after strike after strike  .....  Why aren't they in the PBA using Lane 1 gear, it would be free advertising and really show people how good their gear really is.  Just some observations.

The reason that you see nothing but strikes is because they edit the film to show strikes only

I could be wrong here, BUT I don't remember watching any Big B, or Track, or any of them for that matter showing nothing but strikes ???  dunno..

I understand that, they have to make the ball look good. But why not show the whole shot from approach, release, roll then pins, not just the ball traveling down the lane then striking. I wonder how many shots they take just to make one good video of all strikes.
I personally love my Lane 1 gear. Last night I shot a nice 265 in my second game of league play with the cobalt bomb, that is this seasons high score for me and the lane 1 equipment has helped improve my average.
One last note: the shots they show are all on house shots. I would also like to see some pro lane conditions like scorpion, chameleon etc.. and maybe even a sport shot to see what the balls can really do.
What do you think?????

mike shot the g forc vid on the chameleon pattern.he cant show every angle with 1 camera u know.and id rather c the ball motion then his bowling styles

I believe showing anything but a strike will tell you nothing. it could be bad release, hit wrong target or even wrong condition for the ball.

Mike shows strikes with different targets, that shows the potential of the ball, it is not really about showing video of X's only.  With a strike shot, you can make a good judgement from seeing the ball rotation, how far it goes down the lane, the break point, how many boards it will cover .. especially that he shows different releases, hence different rotations

showing, for example, the Tsunami on heavy oil condition will not provide any info but this ball is not good for heavy oil and nothing else

I think you're not watching close enough. The Lane#1 vid's provide more than enough information to evaluate what their ball's do. Yea, we all would like academy award quality productions of every ball on every possible pattern from every possible angle with every possible style (on and on...), but that's just not feasible.

Look closer. Consider the drill pattern and oil condition advertised in the vids. Evaluate that against the technical information posted on the Lane#1 website. Do all this and your questions should be answered.
