Title: How should I drill my HDB?
Post by: L o G on April 07, 2005, 06:18:14 PM
Hello all,

Most of the time I have an idea on how I want a ball drilled but this is my 3rd ball in 6 or 8 weeks.  I have a Uranium drilled with the pin under the ring and the cg swung out(1-2 inch pin) and I have a GN drilled with the pin over bridge slighty left of the center line but not right over the ring with the cg on the grip center line(3-4 inch pin)

With that said I now have an undrilled HDB with a 4.5 inch pin and 4 oz of top.  Right now I am only bowling on the THS and I am wondering if it would be a waist to drill this ball.  I have no idea what to do with it.  I do like that it is a solid and most likely wont be huge on the backend.  If I do drill it I am looking for a pretty even reaction, nothing snappy(I finally relized taht snap is'nt my best friend).  How many people here have a HDB and used it on THS, how was it drilled and what reaction did you get?  Any input is welcome.

Thanks, Crossfade

My personal Hybrid is drilled approx 5x4 with the pin above the ring. I have drilled several others with variuous drill patterns and all persons involved seem to be doing well.

With your situation I'd say do a stack and shift. Put the pin slightly above and about an inch right (if you are a righty or left if you are a lefty) of your ring and then drop the cg straight down so it is just off your thumbhole.

The ball should roll strong but not be overly aggressive due to the nature of the ball.
