Title: HRG Cover prep ideas ?
Post by: 302efi on April 09, 2007, 08:13:41 AM
For some reason my HRG is just not matching up at all. The ball is still at box finish.

It doesnt seem to want to move at all on a med oil THS.

Any ideas on what to prep it at ?

Ball is drilled label with no weight hole. Specs in profile.

I've got a post in the forsale forum about the HRG..Thats how fed-up I am with it.

Don't give up on it until you try scuffing it!
I was not very successful with my HRG until I knocked the shine off it. I actually used a wet green scotchbrite on the spinner. That dulled it up pretty good. I used it like that for a few weeks and did well with it. It turned up alot sooner instead of blowing through the breakpoint (like it did in OOB surface). I have since gone to a 1500 wet-sand (no polish) and like it even better. Mine is drilled pin under ring (4.5" from PAP) , CG out 60*.

efi, is there any side, finger or top weight in the ball..? Check the weights and get back to me. You may need a weight hole and/or a surface adjustment. =:^D
