tsunami
« on: November 11, 2005, 03:20:36 PM »
OK guys, you may have compared already here, but I have to check again. How does the backend reaction compare to say the dirty bomb? If you have thrown a cranberry, how would the two compare in your opinion? I'm kind of disappointed that these seem to coming out with lower top weights. If I drill mine up with the cg in the palm, I'm still going to end up with bottom weight.
You guys that have them, what kind of top/bottom did you end up with after drilling. Many say it makes no difference, but I just think the hit is better with about 1oz of top after drilling.

Any comments? Thanks!

With lower top weights, use more finger weight, combined with side. Equal side and finger, with amounts 1/2 to 3/4 oz., work well with lower top. =:^D

Thanks T-GOD, I will try that. He got either 4 or 5 balls in his shipment & the highest top was 2.7 oz. I always like to get at least 3.5 to start unless I'm planning an extreme off label drill.

Through your personal experience, can you tell the difference in hit & carry between high top & low top balls? I think I can, but certainly have no proof to back me up.

This ball has 3" pin, so I think I'll put the pin beside the ring with cg out slightly & the MB will probably end up about 2 1/2" to the right of thumb. I'll try to keep about 1/2 oz pos finger & side as you suggest.

Sure will revs! It will be a similar layout only the cg & mb kicked a little further right.

PocketRocket, Thanks for that info. I am one that has a love relationship with my cranberry. Mine seems to carry everything , light, solid, & a little tight, then when it's a little much on the backend, I switch to my blueberry & it brings it back to the pocket. If the tsunami is anything like these 2 balls, I'm sure I will like it, but I'm a little skeptical. It's going to have to be one great ball to get those 2 out of my hands!

PocketRocket, My wife has the tsunami & it does get a little dirty, but I clean everything after every use with orange clean & windex. I was mainly concerned about the top weight, but we'll see what happens. Does anyone know why these balls seem to be coming out with lower tops? I've noticed almost all of them on e-bay seem to be under 3oz, & like I said, the ones shipped to my pro shop guy from lane one, I believe were less than 3. Just curious.

I'm buying mine from my local pro shop. He has been great at drilling all my equipment for me that I have purchased on line. I have been getting older NIB equipment like the cranberry, blueberry, cherry C2, & pro purple, stuff that he can't get from manufacturer. I guess it's the least I can do to support him on this one! My bomb balls that I have are just not matching up right now, I don't know if it's the shot(condition) or if it's just me. My diamond cores on the other hand have just been outstanding for me.
Oh yeah, the review! That was the greatest!
