I got a question for you Lane 1 guys
« on: April 08, 2008, 06:51:52 PM »
Are the balls really worth it? Not trying to start any kind of bad talk but I have been looking at acouple of Lane 1 balls. Looking for some feedback just in general how Lane 1 equipment has helped your game and what are some of the benefits you reek in for throwing the equipment compaired to other stuff you've thrown in the past.

IMO they roll and hit a ton better then anything else on the market. That's what sold me first. But now more then anything, what keeps me buying their products is their customer service. It is second to none, and they go way out of their way to help customers even for reasons they shouldn't even think about taking care off.

Being a pro shop operator I get the opportunity to play around with a lot of stuff and here are a few observations....

Most bowlers will TYPICALLY match up with EITHER the Bomb style core or the Diamond shaped core. Rarely do both match up really well.

I didn't have any luck with a few of the balls but other people love them.

Follow your gut and your personal preferences....if you like pearl balls, try a pearl. If you like solids, go for a solid.

The hit of the Buzzsaws is above average as far as I am concerned. I have had some that didn't hit as good as others but I have thrown some that hit way harder than ANYTHING I have ever used.

Pick up a used one and try it...I haev a couple for sale as well as nova....

Keep us informed as to what you do!!!!

Actually, mixing red and blue together provides the sweetest combination. Kind of like the mixed blue and red swirle cover on the Supernova -- very sweet.

Does a particular style match up better to the Bomb or Diamond core? A straighter lower rev verus those with more hand who like to play the whole lane. And not to hijack, but does the G-force series use Superflex?

Gazoo....

Although not a 100% absolute, strokers tend to like the Bombs and guys with more hand tend to like the diamonds.

I know there will be plenty of guys jumping in here and telling me I am wrong but that has been my experience thus far...

That's why I like being a tweener... either/or works fine for me.  I'll have a Silver Diamond in a couple days to play with too.

Does that happen outside this forum?
I would estimate that 9 time out of 10, problems arise when non-Lane #1 users come in here and start poking around. Of course Lane #1 fans are going to sing praise in the Lane #1 forum.

The 1 in 10 that happens outside this forum can usually be linked to a few radical fan boys who have gone off the deep end. The likes of T-GOD, Steven, chris-m, etc... there are just a few who ruin the party for everyone. These guys just have a bad case of "diarrhea of the mouth". They just don't know when to shut up, and the sh1t just keeps gushing out.

I have only owned 2 pearl Cobalt Bombs and the Liberator.

The Liberator is a condition specific ball because it's urethane but has a high end core.  On the correct pattern it allows me to play areas of the lane that reactive won't allow me to play.  Plus the ball is at a decent price point.  I picked it up for 200 drilled.

The Pearl Cobalt Bombs were obviously more money than the Liberator but were awesome bowling balls.  I really liked the Pearl Cobalt Bomb.

I thought both the Pearl Cobalt Bomb and Liberator were worth the money I paid for them.  Are they more special than say my Blue Vibe and or No Mercy?  No.

I think it all depends on what your willing to pay for a ball.  If money is tight and your looking to get the best bang for the buck, then the Blue Vibe is THE best ball on the market in my opinion.  However, if your looking for a high end ball then Lane 1 is right up there with the rest.

If you really look, the Lane 1 equipment is really not anymore money than the other high end equipment being sold from the other ball makers.  It's all in what your looking for out of a particular piece of equipment.

Now for me if a bowling ball doesn't pay for itself (big money league, pot games, tourney's ect...)then it's not a good piece!
