Are the balls really worth it? Not trying to start any kind of bad talk but I have been looking at acouple of Lane 1 balls. Looking for some feedback just in general how Lane 1 equipment has helped your game and what are some of the benefits you reek in for throwing the equipment compaired to other stuff you've thrown in the past.

I have seen better carry as well. And more forgiveness on shots going through the nose, at myhouse using the Buzzbomb if I throw a bad ball and it over hooks I am mostly left with just a 6-10 or 3-6-10. I have benn averaging 215 since I bught that ball over a month ago. And at my house that is really hard to do, only one other person averages that.
Now the carry with the XP is something I can't even explain. It is just SICK. Strikes you don't even deserve

I agree with LANEHAMMER, the buzzbomb is OK,( VERY AVERAGE for all the hoopla advertising when it came out.) I LOVE my supernova XP!!! I also love the CELL.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Save some dough and buy some lightly used Lane #1 balls.
There may be a guy on here selling a few...if I could just remember who that was...

As has been stated, it's a matter of personal preference, and the only way to really know is to try a few out for yourself. Regardless of what anyone says, the diamond core does provide a different look. It's a subtle difference -- some like it while others don't see the big deal.
In my case, it's been worth it. I had plowed through over 50+ Storm, Ebonite, Track and Brunswick balls before trying Lane#1 (with skepticism), and after giving the Saws an honest try, I got the hype. After several years of my THS average hovering around 220, I've had two successive years of 230+ averages with Lane#1 equipment.
There is always the argument about 'cost', but in the overall scheme of things, I've found using Lane#1 no more expensive than if I had stayed with other companies. Why? Because frankly, Lane#1 puts out fewer duds. Most of the majors completely revamp their cover/cores each year to get you to buy something new. Many of those 'new' combinations are crap shoots, where you end up buying something else because the ball didn't work as advertised. So is it more expensive buying two of brand 'X', or buying one Lane#1?
But again, this is something you have to try and decide for yourself. Trying at least one out is not going to break the bank.

Not all Buzzsaws are created equal.Despite staying with the basic diamond core Lane #1 has managed to create a variety of looks with the various incarnations and tweaks on the design. Also various companies have poured Lane #1 over the years and you may find a preference over one to another.
I found by trial and error that the original diamond and variations fit my game quite well.
The bomb core, however, does not fit my game at all.
The one thing I've appreciated from the hype is Buzzsaws ,for the most part, retain value. This allows you to experiment with the cores and shells available and find the ones you like and sell off the rest if you wish rather easily.
Don't know about the 20% better carry etc. but I do know when I've needed a ball for a particularly difficult condition for me in many cases a Buzzsaw has been the answer.

For some people they really work, I watched a guy go from using a Scout to a dirty bomb, his average went up 15 pins for the last half of the season. All i can say is if you got the money try them out, it's the only way you will know if it works for you!

Well the money isn't really an issue. Just trying to get a feel of what real time bowlers such as yourself have seen different since using there equipment. I had one Lane 1 ball many years ago. I had the Carbide LRG and it worked great for it's time. Just i've seen all the videos and I don't really care what the staff members have to say more then just the every day bowlers like us.

I can't speak for the ones now being made by 900 Global nor the ones made by Columbia prior to their sell-out to Ebonite because I haven't tried them nor seen anyone use them where I bowl, but for the ones made by Brunswick prior to that, yes they are worth it. However, based on my recent successful experience with AMF balls made by 900 Global, I would bet the Lane 1 balls made by 900 Global are worth it also.

I use stuff from all companies and am primarily a Storm guy.
My experience with Lane #1 goes like this:
The good: When you match up, you really match up. Carry on high hits is better than most. The balls that are built to be milder are very good on THS conditions. The balls tend to last, too.
The bad: When you don't match up, you really don't match up. The stronger pieces in the company's line have rarely worked for me. Typically, the stronger the ball the more corner pins I leave with this line. And drilling options, IMO, are limited and very touchy, more so than most.
Overall, there is much to like but also things not to like. Unfortunately, I've only found out which is which through trial and error.

Increase in carry, average and confidence that i could bowl with anybody on a THS, i just feel that way,
try any of these balls cause they HIT HARD! Black Cherry Bomb, Dirty Bomb, Enriched Uranium, Supernova XP, Buzzbomb, Cobalt Pearl, Uranium HRG, G-Force(this is one of those match up balls, don't buy 1st). Now if you want SICK CARRY that should be illegal. (Enriched Uranium, Supernova XP, Black Cherry Bomb) Now, if you want to have fun with flare: Army Green Carbide bomb, Carbide Plus, BCB. Now, if you want versatility: Buzzbomb, BCB, EU. For dry lane bowling: clear diamond spare. I know that there are more balls that Lane 1 makes that cover some of the topics that i covered, however, i'm only giving you feedback from the balls that i own and have thrown. Finally, what i get out of Lane #1 is, THEY MAKE BOWLING FUN AND EXCITING AND NOT JUST ANOTHER COMPANY AND THIS IN TURN MAKES OTHER MAD FOR SOME REASON.

I don't think it makes others mad. I think it annoys people when someone who is a brand whore tries to impose their company on others like it's the end all be all line of equipment. This isn't pertaining just to Lane #1 fans but everyone. No one wants some idiot up in their face bragging about how awesome his stuff is compared to your own.

IMO they roll and hit a ton better then anything else on the market. That's what sold me first. But now more then anything, what keeps me buying their products is their customer service. It is second to none, and they go way out of their way to help customers even for reasons they shouldn't even think about taking care off.

Being a pro shop operator I get the opportunity to play around with a lot of stuff and here are a few observations....
Most bowlers will TYPICALLY match up with EITHER the Bomb style core or the Diamond shaped core. Rarely do both match up really well.
I didn't have any luck with a few of the balls but other people love them.
Follow your gut and your personal preferences....if you like pearl balls, try a pearl. If you like solids, go for a solid.
The hit of the Buzzsaws is above average as far as I am concerned. I have had some that didn't hit as good as others but I have thrown some that hit way harder than ANYTHING I have ever used.
Pick up a used one and try it...I haev a couple for sale as well as nova....

Actually, mixing red and blue together provides the sweetest combination. Kind of like the mixed blue and red swirle cover on the Supernova -- very sweet.

Does a particular style match up better to the Bomb or Diamond core? A straighter lower rev verus those with more hand who like to play the whole lane. And not to hijack, but does the G-force series use Superflex?

Gazoo....
Although not a 100% absolute, strokers tend to like the Bombs and guys with more hand tend to like the diamonds.
I know there will be plenty of guys jumping in here and telling me I am wrong but that has been my experience thus far...

That's why I like being a tweener... either/or works fine for me. I'll have a Silver Diamond in a couple days to play with too.

Does that happen outside this forum?
I would estimate that 9 time out of 10, problems arise when non-Lane #1 users come in here and start poking around. Of course Lane #1 fans are going to sing praise in the Lane #1 forum.
The 1 in 10 that happens outside this forum can usually be linked to a few radical fan boys who have gone off the deep end. The likes of T-GOD, Steven, chris-m, etc... there are just a few who ruin the party for everyone. These guys just have a bad case of "diarrhea of the mouth". They just don't know when to shut up, and the sh1t just keeps gushing out.

I have only owned 2 pearl Cobalt Bombs and the Liberator.
The Liberator is a condition specific ball because it's urethane but has a high end core. On the correct pattern it allows me to play areas of the lane that reactive won't allow me to play. Plus the ball is at a decent price point. I picked it up for 200 drilled.
The Pearl Cobalt Bombs were obviously more money than the Liberator but were awesome bowling balls. I really liked the Pearl Cobalt Bomb.
I thought both the Pearl Cobalt Bomb and Liberator were worth the money I paid for them. Are they more special than say my Blue Vibe and or No Mercy? No.
I think it all depends on what your willing to pay for a ball. If money is tight and your looking to get the best bang for the buck, then the Blue Vibe is THE best ball on the market in my opinion. However, if your looking for a high end ball then Lane 1 is right up there with the rest.
If you really look, the Lane 1 equipment is really not anymore money than the other high end equipment being sold from the other ball makers. It's all in what your looking for out of a particular piece of equipment.
Now for me if a bowling ball doesn't pay for itself (big money league, pot games, tourney's ect...)then it's not a good piece!
