XXXL and Clear Buzzsaw
« on: March 18, 2007, 01:32:22 AM »
I see these are listed as spare balls and i am looking for a new spare ball to replace my hammer tuff. I watched the video of these balls on lane 1's website. They look like they hit real hard for a spare ball. Is the hook potential any higher then other plastic balls. Since these are around 150-175 at my pro shop and i can get any other plastic ball for less then $100. Are these lane 1 plastic balls really a step up from the other companies?

Does the $150 include grips, slug and drilling?  If not contact one of the great online sellers we have here, you'll save yourself a bunch of cash..

The Black/Red XXXL have a bigger core and should in theory carry a bit better then the Clear with the slightly smaller core.

Personally I like my Clear the best, I had a Black XXXL in the past.  With the Clear you get that extra WOW effect, and IMO works just as well as the other XXXL's.

I am with Zeusjr on this I like the clear better also even though I have not thrown the clear it just looks better going down the lane

I myself have the black and my daughter has the clear and for me this ball is gold on fried lanes yes it works well as a 10 pin ball but the plus side of the XXXL and the Crystal Diamond is the core inside when the lanes are fried you can pull either of them out and the weight block that is in both that is not in a standard plastic ball will give you that extra punch to use them as your strike ball where a regular plastic somtimes just will not carry

hope this helps

Contact Triggerman he always gives good deals on equipment him or Lane1slave at BBE can set you up I myself have dealt with slave and hes a great person to deal with I believe he and Triggerman are in bussiness together but not sure about this

I myself use the Red XXXL for all my right side spare shooting, plus for really dry lanes. Even if they aren't totally fried yet, I can play up 10 with it, and it still gets to the pocket.

IMHO, the XXXL balls are a very hard hitting plastic ball, due to it's core. I have no complaints what so ever about it. As for the clear, it looks pretty cool, but haven't thrown one yet.

They are definitely worth the extra dough. When the lanes are totally fried, they make a great strike ball. The core allows for drilling options not available on most plastic balls. This means you can have both a good spare ball AND a good strike ball when the lanes are toasty. And yes, it hits HARD! I have the black XXXL drilled as a strike ball (only take it on tourney days), and my clear diamond is drilled for spares/looks only (league night).

My clear Buzzsaw gets a lot of use. I use it weekly when the lanes get toasted and as my spare ball. I shoot almost all my spares with it unless its a bucket where the deflection will get you. It has some nicks and scuffs, but no cracks and I think its worth every penny. I also had the black xxxl and I think this hits as hard or harder. The black one was drilled label and the clear is pin axis drilled. This plastic CAN'T be beat. Period!
