BCB
« on: May 30, 2006, 09:10:26 AM »
So i decided to try out Lane 1 because i have been curious about the balls.  I bought the Black Cherry Bomb drilled Stacked.  The ball is still in the oob finish.

I have tried it in a few houses and it seems a little squirty.  I dont have many revs, probably a low tweener, and throw about 15 mph.  In my main house, the ball doesnt like to turn. It skids past breakpoint.  I tried it in another house and it worked a little better.  This house has drier backends.  It didnt hook a ton but it was still a better reaction overall.

Any suggestions on how to get this ball to flip a little earlier.  Maybe dull it a little?  I dont know

Other than that the ball hits extremely hard when it hits the pocket.  I havent left a 10 yet ... knock on wood!

the BCB is not for oily lanes (unless u have a really clean backend) .. works the best with meduim oil .. maybe meduim-heavy ... but not heavy oil

I have mine drilled stacked as well ... the ball has 6+ flare which means it will skid.

don't be afraid to sand it to 800 or 600 if you want the early hook, but remember you trading off with the boards it will cover when it flips ( it will hook less )

I drilled mine Label 1:30 and it's a monster on most THS conditions. As said above, it works on heavy oil only if the backends are clean. Go ahead and alter the surface if you want, but mine works best OOB (on all but heavy oil conditions). The stacked drill could be the cause of your ball acting "squirty"...definitely not a "control" drill.

For your heavy oil shot, you might consider a Solid Uranium (nothing squirty about that ball...the diamond core balls are SMOOOOOTH). I have two Soild Uraniums...one label drill and one CG axis.

trig .. I have all my bomb lane#1 balls drilled stacked ( 3-3/8 or 4 ) hehe ... found it to work the best with them ... but stacked won't work gr8 with diamond ones, unless over the label ( 5 stacked )

see that is what i am talking about, stacked with the diamond works great for me but stacked bomb cores suck for me, funny how they match up well for some but bite the big one for others

Same for me trig... I can get the diamond core balls to work with nearly any drill (stacked included), but I have to be VERY careful on the bomb cores...stacked has never worked for me on a bomb.
