For what this ball gives you in versatility and hit, it is NOT overpriced. It is more when compared to a normal plastic like a white dot, or what have you , BUT not in comparison to say a visi ball plastic, for they are pricey. This ball however, gives more than all those combined, for all they can do is go straight, and if one can get one to move, it is either BONE dry, or they have tremendous hand. The XXXL will move on its own yet does not overreact. I love mine, and if they come out with a clear one, that will be my second. This ball is BY FAR the best plastic on the market.
Richie told me once, that there was a plastic ball only tourney, and most bowlers wanted the XXXL banned from the tourney. When asked why, the answer was because of the weight block it has an advantage. The director responded with a question, "If it gives that much of an advantage, then why do you not have one?" Needless to say it was allowed, for it met the plastic coverstock requirements.
Bottom line, it is 2 balls in one, and is the BEST!!!
