Randy, it's nice to see Dan Bearden bowled his FIRST 800 Series using a Lane #1 Black Cherry Bomb. Now go tell your boss that Lane 1 stuff isn't worth the money..!! Ohhh...Dan is your boss..!!

Damm, the guy is 55 yrs old and bowled his first 800 series. I guess it was just a coincidence he bowled his first 800 set within about 2 months after using a  Lane 1 ball..? Now keep telling everyone that Lane 1 balls aren't worth the money.

Working in a pro shop...$10.00 an hr.
Buying a Lane #1 ball...$250.00
Bowling your first 800 series...PRICELESS..!! =:^D

lol, scottie was that addressed to me? What does Columbia have to do with anything.... and the Lane #1  balls I was referring too were their high tech stuff, not the mid.....and I meant including drilling....no surprise though that you follow into this thread and once again show your class with your hostility.

dear jabroni,

i invite you to take all of your negative posts to some other forum more suited to your IQ . . . like the yahoo message boards.

i haven't seen you post anything positive since you showed up . . . just stay away from the lane #1 posts if you're too stupid to fork over an extra $15 . . . or better yet, just stay away.

I have made plenty of positive posts in these forums by the way, they just aren't in the Lane 1 forum.  There is nothing good to say about them.  If they retailed at the same price points as other companies balls, then they would be great, but they don't so they are a gimmick.

gg and good day......

How can you tell who you don't have to worry about at a scratch tournament...check their bag for buzzsaws....if they have them, one less person to beat.

i rest my case . . . nothing good to say about them, but they're great . . . and just because they MAY cost a little more, they're a gimmick.  enjoy your bonanza balls, and congratulations if and when you bowl your first 140 . . .

That's about the stupidest comment I've ever heard. Man, do you squeek. I vote Jabroni/Randy for the "CHEAPEST Bowler" award..!!

So there you have it. Buzzsaw's are great, but they just cost too much. It's a gimmick to pay more for something that is great/better. And to think that this guy runs/works in a pro shop.

Like I said earlier, you're not a very good salesman..!! =:^D

Roni, I'm not taking things out of context. You said the balls were great, but that they cost to much.

You need a lesson in business and/or in sales. That's why I say you're a bad salesman. Your job is too make money/make your boss money..!! That's the purpose of any business.

The key is to make people feel good about their purchase, not to save them money..!! You don't know how much money someone has, or what they think is too high of a price FOR THEM.

A good sales person hypes up the product they're selling, making the person feel good about how much they're spending on it. If the product is good and it delivers, it's an easy sell.

How would you feel selling yourself/your services..? Are you going to tell people you're great, but it doesn't cost much for your service..? Is that they way you want to sell yourself..?

Or, would you want to be the highest price..? There's nothing wrong with being the highest price, if you're the best. Now it's your job to convince people that you are the best. Your customers will pay your pirce if you're good.

That is the difference between a good sales man and you..!! Hopefully, you've learned something. =:^D

jabberwocky . . . you're the one making the fool of yourself with your double-talk and ignorant statements.  i could keep pointing them out ad infinitum, ad nauseam . . . but it's quite frankly become boring, and a waste of my time.

sorry to the other ballreviews members for inciting this madness.

good luck, rice-a-roni . . . you're gonna need it!

Jabroni RELAX......
What is the big deal, if you don't like lane1? Let it go already.
Maybe you're angry cause lane1 balls did not work for you.  I have been bowling for 20 years.  Used every company out there.  Let me tell you there is a big Diff Between lane1 and everyone else.  Purchased a BCB, XXXL two weeks ago spent $325 for both, drilled.  In my league since I switched over I've made $550 bucks.  Next purchase CB.  I'm very confident I'll get my money back.  Balls that I now have on display(deuce,Blue Hammer, Vicious, everclear, money, ez-money,scout,cuda, cuda 2000).  All of the mentioned balls were good, but they didn't quite measure up.  It was like going from a Cadillac to Benz.
Good luck Jabroni hopefully you'll find something out there that makes you happy.

OK Jabroni, Randy, whoever you are, since you don't post a profile, it's time to put up or shut up.  I scanned ALL of the PBA southern region stats through 12/8.  I found 6 Randy's.  Weiss, Rose, Russell, Bourgeois, Shewmake and Whitehead.  Which one are you?  I have a vague recollection that the proshop that you work at is in Georgia, no? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The only Randy from Georgia is Randy Russell.  He cashed twice in 9 tournaments for a grand total of $420.

IF (and the rest of this applies only IF this is you) you're making $10 per hour in a proshop and have earned a WHOPPING $420 in the southern region, (in 9 events, so I'm sure your entry fees and travel expenses put you in the hole)
it's pretty easy to figure that you earn $20,800 per year.  Assuming that you live relatively frugally; $600 rent, $150 utilities (phone, cable, electricity etc.), $150 gas and insurance (your car is owned outright), $150 food and, say, $200 miscellaneous (bowling leagues/tournaments and bubble gum) per month, your expenses total $1350 a month or $16,200 per year.  Assuming that you pay taxes at a rate of say 6% due to your low income level you would have a disposable income of about $3000 a year, or $60 a week.  At this level, I see white dots in your future.

From your posts it is obvious that you are intelligent, witty and pretty much a major wise-*ss.  I'm not sure that you respect anyone's opinion but your own and NO, you DON'T know it all.  You've expressed your opinion regarding Lane #1 ad nauseaum, it's time for you to spend more time in the other forums.  There really is nothing else for you to say regarding this equipment, we all have been overexposed to your feelings.  Unless, of course, all you're really looking for is an argument.  And if that's the case you either need to get a life, or a girlfriend!

You can argue forever about pricing but it's not about that, that's what you miss.  It's about satisfaction.  A company called J.D. Power measures this for consumers of various products. Is price a part of this?  Sure, it is.  But is it merely a PART?  Yes, customer satisfaction encompasses the entire purchasing and ownership experience.  A consumer must be satisfied that they got good quality, good value and a good experience out of their purchase or they won't purchase from that company again.

You yourself admit that you've never had a Lane #1 product.  It would be very difficult to enjoy/hate the experience without having tried it, regardless of price.  And I would bet that most Lane #1 customers are repeat customers, for whatever reason, they enjoyed the experience.

golfnut,

Why would you bring a mans salary into a post like that. What does his income have to do with anything, other than the fact that maybe he has other stuff to do with his money than blow it on lane 1 bowling balls.

Is it that you feel that you must be rich to deserve the privilege of throwing lane 1 balls? I usually agree with, and enjoy most of your posts, but your personal attack on Jabroni for the amount of money he makes per year was degrading, insulting, unneccesary, and you should be ashamed. You now remind me of a school bully, picking on people that you don't consider equal to yourself because they make less money.

I have worked physically for everything I have in this world. I go out everyday and dig ditches, lay block, pour concrete, etc. etc. Whatever I have to do make money and keep a roof over my families heads. Does that make me less of a man than you are because I can't go out and waste 250 bucks on a lane 1 bowling ball?
