It would be hard to verify the lane conditions, but with the way he was lofting and double dribbling, not hitting the same spot over and over again I would doubt that it is a 39 ft sport shot.  Those balls hanging on the 1 board would have been in the gutter if it were, and that was a lot of room for error which doesn't exist on a sport shot.

The only way I would say it is a sport shot was that it was oiled, and then had 1 full set of league on it, and everyone was playing 15 or 20 out to about 5.  The the pair would have possibly been broken down enough to get the ball to have that much room for error.

Just my opinion though...

The fact that it says it's a 5 to 5 sport shot, makes me believe BS.  Never seen a sport shot advertised as being flat from 5 to 5.  

Defeats the purpose of a flat shot, really.

I did not watch the video, and I am not defending anyone. I just wanted to comment on the remarks above. If you have a 3:1 ratio (sport compliant), you could have 15 units from 5 to 5, and 5 units outside of 5. The ratio is the important factor in determining a legitimate pattern. Sport patterns are rarely completely flat...just alot flatter than a THS pattern!

I agree with you.  Watch the video...Must be negative units outside of 5!  LOL!

Absolutely not.  The guy has three boards of area and they all have arrows on them.  Of course, according to some, those kind of revs are all that matter, so maybe he's able to make a hard shot look easy.

if that was a "flat" pattern no way he'd have the amount of area as he did in that video. Guy didnt come within 5 boards of the previous shot at the breakpoint. So my answer would be there is such thing as 39ft, pattern with 1:1 ratio but this would not be it

actually not at all, me being for one that i am not "crying" about usbc to make a sport pattern a regular league condition. It would make it better in tournaments yes to show your actual abaility but in leagues would never work. Too many people wanna average 230 and not practice,thats what that comes down to

on a flat pattern those gutter bumps wouldn't be bumps they would be simply channel balls. i don't care how many revs you got on a flat sport pattern getting that far out at halfway down the lane it ain't gonna come back. i doubt many pros could get that reaction from that far out.
